Re: Pivot evolution

I have a -16 pivot 9m and -15 11m. I have found a deal on a -16 7m new for around 400 euro. It's without the quad tex, does the quad tex affect the performance of the pivot? Or mostly durability? I think since the 7m doesn't get used that often durability wont be an issue especially considering the...

I have had 2017's & 2019's. The 2019's are a step up if you can believe it. I would get a 6 simply because, in 20 years of kiting, the Pivot 6 is my favorite kite. It's fast, fast, fast & powerful. Super fun kite!!!!
Not exactly what I wanted to hear but thanks I guess ;)

Re: Firewire Hydroshort kite version

I think it will be a solid all-around board, and fill the main thing I'm looking for which is something that I can ride when conditions are decent to good ( for us that would be waist to shoulder) in a smaller package. I have the 5'2" Whip CSC for freestyle and really small stuff. This is exactly w...

Re: Naish Pivot, 2020 v 2018

@Hugh2, I went from a quiver of 2015-16 Pivots to the 2017 versions with quadtex and thought that the difference was substantial. Do you notice a performance difference between 7 and the 9/11? The profile was tweaked less in later years, esp. 2019-2020 are the same except for a new inflation system ...

Re: Naish Pivot, 2020 v 2018

Interesting observation that you consider the Slash 7m almost as powerful as the Pivot 9m! I have a similar experience as Dirk, i.e. that the Pivot is more powerful than most and certainly the Slash, which is why I run Slash 2019 6m, Pivot 2017 7m, 2017 9m. Either something is off with the Slash or ...

Re: First time wave riding

I echo all of the above, get something meant for those smaller waves. Vassilief, what's your weight, that will also help recommendations?

Re: Hi all, what is the maximum windspeed to kite?

My max was 42knts steady with gusts up to 52, 1.5 km downwind from the weatherstation that measured the speed so I consider it pretty reliable. It was fun to be out with 4 kiters in total on a beach that's normally filled with 100s on good days. Short session on a 5m Pivot on short lines, no real ju...
