Angry Swallow fin configurations

Can someone give me the rundown on the pros/cons of the different fin configurations? (2015 5 fin)
What about aftermarket fins of different sizes?
Is there a good fin setup for light wind? Or, replacement fins for light wind?
I searched around, not a lot of info about it...

Thanks.

Re: Foolkookio and bullshit claims about ram air relaunch

bullshit...done it myself. Get some air under the leading edge, then hold it back from launching by pulling back lines, water drains as kite is slowly allowed to lift from the water. All that water will likely end up on one side as it lifts, so you are pulling the opposite back line to prevent the k...

Re: Elf Joker 6 9m, my first foil kite

To answer your original question, use a sandbag to hold the folded over tip down for launching. Wont need to be too big for that sized kite.

And expect a learning curve...It is different and you will have a few lessons to learn. ;)

Enjoy!

Re: Foolkookio & Ridiculous Light Wind Claims

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmyXP4WIlRM Just sayin' 2-4kts, and I was down a bit of a hill. The kite will fly once you get going, but 'just' stay up with some effort (line pumping) when standing. But I agree with Starsky, while sub 10kts is ridable, you need 10 to really start having fun (curren...

Re: Speed 3 21m Upwind adjustment

All good info. I'll try setting B-1,C-2 to start (low hanging fruit first!). If nose over is the symptom of too much camber (extended B/C), what is the symptom of shortening them? Failing that, I'll dive into giving the mixer a full go-over. I will check the pulley lines quickly as well, to see how ...

Speed 3 21m Upwind adjustment

My Speed 3 21m just doesn't go upwind as well as it should or used too. Sitting deep, pulling like a truck. (yes, I know how to ride it with 'finesse') I have stretched out the bridles, that helped with some stability issues that had crept in over the last season or two. I am now running B +1cm, C +...

Re: Speed(5) up your summer with our mythical 21.0m

I don't have a Speed5, but I would suggest the 21m is better for heavier riders. If you are average weight, the 18m will likely be just that bit more fun to fly, while the bottom end you might lose vs. the 21m will be negligible. You probably should be thinking of coming in if you are kiting in wind...

Re: Flysurfer Speed 5

With the upwind tip folded and sanded, lay a board on the kite in the middle. That should stop it from flapping around.
