Re: Has anyone been kiting off of a cruise ship?

I have been on a few. If you take it with a grain of salt, it is cheap and comfortable accommodations with decent food. The last one I went was so cheap, It would have been cheaper to book a cruise to Rotan Honduras than to fly. Just get off the boat! Frankly, our typical meal expenses when travelli...

Re: The gap jump.

Deep pockets and early retirement would help too, if I could somehow figure that out!
I suppose 'paid leave' would do. I wonder how I can screw up just enough to not get fired outright...

Re: How close before a helicopter wash would affect a kite?

The size of a helicopter's rotorwash is proportional to the helicopter's weight, so a Robinson R22 at 900 lbs poses less hazard than a 50,000 lb Chinook. A helicopter that is hovering is what will produce the most danger to kites. As some have noted, a helicopter flying by at speed (generally above...

Re: Wizard at work? Psycho 5?

Good to see Armin flies coach! I've almost convinced myself to buy an S5 12m, and I'd hate to think of some of my money going towards unnecessary luxury  How can any man convince himself to buy a purple kite? :D. Actually, I want to address that here and hopefully Amin is here. I can feel his...

The offshore idea will never fly...

How will the kids throw it down in 6" of water to impress the chicks!?! (Girls who are probably just texting other dudes who pay attention to them instead of kiting anyway)

Re: REVL (formally OTO) self leveling camera raises $2 milli

Pretty impressive tech.

Next, marry this with panoramic camera systems that capture 360deg video and you can just go film, never worrying about framing. The video will always be level, no matter what angle the camera sphere.

Re: Will kites in 2020 be drastically different?

Mylar skin type high pressure inflatable foil kite that can be filled with helium and is buoyancy neutral (doesn't rise or fall in the air on its own). Holds its highly efficient, super-high aspect shape perfectly at all times due to the high internal pressure. Oh, and it is super cheaply mass produ...

Re: Roof Cargo Boxes, anyone use them?

I have a Thule Force XXL that I can stuff all my kites, boards, etc. in easily. I am chiming in because of the heat concern. I once left all my gear in an outdoor lot in Florida (went on a cruise) for a week. It was May, so hot for sure. There was not a surf board, but twin tips, kites, etc. It was ...
