Re: Anyone pack their foil kite like a paraglider/ppg wing?

some foils have battens. the method for a paraglider is a little different from the kite tho. You want to put all the bridles into the kite, then roll it up and trifold it to keep the battens from bending on a kite. I'm not sure why you can't roll up a paraglider like you do a kite but there must b...

Re: Anyone pack their foil kite like a paraglider/ppg wing?

No reason to do this with a foil kite. You do with with a paraglider to protect the battons in the leading edge. Don't know of any foil kites that have battons like a paraglider. All so paraglider lines are more fragile against bending and knots.

It's both you can't kiteboard without a kite and a board.

Re: South Padre July

Possibly you might need a larger kite or foil. It is pretty windy there all year. Summer being the lightest winds. Corpus is 2 hours away and they seem to all ways be windy.

Re: Do you step off gracefully?

Just learning to foil but keeping with the back crash method. Just had ankle surgery back in December and I don't want to go thru that ever again.

Re: What to do?

I would have talked to the guy a little more and made sure he was all right. If it was serious enough of a situation I would have tried to get him to hold on to my harness to drag him to shore faster. If that failed I would try and get him to release the kite so I could pull him in. If you are wonde...

Re: 3D printed bar inserts?

I can print PLA, PETG, ABS. Have never tried nylon. Happy to send you the stl. Have sent you a PM I would not use PLA it is horrible at tooling and pretty brittle. PETG is my go to now easier to print than ABS but with all the benefits of ABS. PLA all so does not like heat so just being in a hot ca...

Re: 3D printed bar inserts?

PETG, ABS, or Nylon would work for printing. PETG is the easiest to print and does not need an enclosure or a vent system since it does not off gas like the other two. You would have to still sand down the inside as it would be rough from the different layers. Hell I would be interested in trying it...

Re: Board Repair

Is it a new board or a used board? if it is new warranty it. If not your kinda screwed. Is it a foam core or wood? Just filling the crack with epoxy will not not work if it is flexing more. That tells me the core is damages as well. You would have to sand down the fiberglass 2-3 inch wide strip alon...
