Re: which skis do you use for snowkiting?

For deep or rough snow conditions I use Rossignol Phantom 108's in 198cm. The ski is a beast but will do pretty much anything. For really deep snow I ride Rossi Bandit 104 198cm with custom 30% tip rocker. Hard snow Rossignol or Salomon DH in 115cm. I'm really digging the rocker ski. I stay clear of...

Re: Snowkiting question

Most of our riding is in isolated lake areas. It's not uncommon to be more than 5 miles out without anyway to get back if the wind craps out on ya so we generally use At gear for deep snow conditions. I have two set ups, one light weight and one a bit more heavy duty. The lightweight is an Atomic Ka...

HA! That's awesome. Yup the old rule still holds true, "Short planks suck, long planks truck." Sounds like the conditions were primo. I bet you're right, hard boots will pay off huge. I hear what you're saying about the hill element. It does kinda change things a little and I'm not sure where that f...

Re: Snowkiting Jackets

There's always the Kite Panel option if you have a non kite specific jacket that you like. As long as you have a YKK zipper you can get one and they work sweet. Cheap $$.

Re: Krug: 59.1mph; 12 going on 35(mph) and boarding on black

I agree, that's smokin' for a board. I too am curious about conditions for a boarder to bag 62.3mph on a board. I'd like to see the data too. I don't ride a board so I don't really know the dynamics involved but it would make more sense to me to o for speed on an alpine board with hard plates and bo...

I don't know what the current ice situation is but two weeks ago the south side of the causeway at Sandbar was frozen.

Re: Fixed line VS Depowerable

If you're taliking about introducing newbies then I would assume FB trainers are the place to start. Cheap, relatively low risk and easy. No point in making things any more complicated than need be or letting them destroy pricey Depows. The man to ask is Rudeboy Saude. He sets up outing club ...

Saulius is the man. That vid is awesome.

Hopefully next week some of us here in New England will get in the mix. Looking forward to another great speed ranking and great season.
