Re: Best East Coast Kiting Spot For Beginner in Mid-November

Your criteria of Mid-Nov, shallow, consistent, warm and East coast USA does not exist. If you narrow it down to 4 out of 5 ; Mid-Nov, shallow, warm, and East coast you are left with only Miami and the Keys (you could also maybe add in Sanibel/ Marco maybe). How long have you been kiting? Everybody k...

Re: Crandon Beach Park Key Biscayne Miami FL: Rules Enforced

No, it's b/c the authorities don't want even the slightest intrusion into the buoy zone.

the area to get out thru is pretty miniscule

Re: Which board is best for me...?

If you want a regular twin tip i would go in the 142cm range. I say the opposite. I own 5 twintips (and 4 kitesurfboards), and every single one of my twintips are 133cm. From the super high wind board all the way down to my light wind weapon. The only place they differ is in width, rocker and stiff...

Re: Delta Airlines Baggage Policy

I think they just lump all windsurfers, surfboards and kitesurfboards into the same shoe. Now, when I travel with a twintip, I just take the fins and footstraps off and tell them it's a kneeboard/ wakeboard/ boogieboard. Come to think of it, my last flight out to the Gorge 2 weeks ago I did just tha...

Re: Kos - how are the rules and regulations these days?

Marmari is a big beach, I found no problems kitesurfing there a few years ago, but it is the most crowded with many many many beachgoers. You'll have to walk a ways , but it is windier. You cannot kite in the swim zone. Further west is Mastichari, much less crowded, a little less of a walk to launch...

Re: Cayo Guillermo Cuba - August

Cabarete seems like better bet if you go early August.
I'll be there in 2 weeks, July is the height of the season.
PAJE seems a little iffy logistically now that they lost the
airport in Nairobi but probably still doable

Re: Cayo Guillermo Cuba - August

That being said last year I went in early October (still hurricane season) and rode every day except one in two weeks. Spent 5 days on a 7m in intense and awesome storm systems. Yes, I suspect you had a two week period of tropical storms or tropical depressions. Thats when they always happen , in s...
