Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Hey dudes, made it over to Blue Mesa today and sure enough it was nuking...or "blowing like stink". I'm only 155 lbs. but I too like to be lit in the deep stuff so I put up my 9m. It was about 12:30 and super rowdy with winds from 15-30 and I could have been going on my 6m I'm fairly certain. Anyway...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Scott, did you guys score today? It looked windy around a large part of the state. I wish I had gone to Taylor park as I didn't have to sleep too late to recover from my night shift and would have had time. I'm going to Blue Mesa or Creede tomorrow for sure.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

OH man, I'm jealous, those shots are sweet. I really need to hook up with some other kiters soon. Good to know Rito Hundo is working too, that's one of the easiest options for me...I'll be watching it. Probably going to session east end of Blue Mesa on Thursday is the wind forecast stays good. Hope ...

Re: Ice Board Blade - IceBoardBlade

Here's one I've got (and currently selling). Mine looks to be longer, maybe a little more stable but not quite as nimble perhaps? It's intense but I dig it. It's great for early season sessions when lakes are frozen but things aren't quite solidified with snow yet for kiting. I use a windsurfing rig...

Re: When is "Big" too big?

I would love to have that kite in my arsenal...especially after watching the Strawberry video. I dread to think of how much it costs but ya only live once right? Keep dialing it in Anthony and keep up updated with your thoughts.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

I scored a decent session at Mushroom Gulch yesterday off of the top of Trout Creek Pass so thought I'd include a couple pics. It's hard to recommend this place unless you're right next door though...winds are shifty and gusty due to the ridge lying to the west. I think most of the wind that sneaks ...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

CP, they upped the wind forecast to 15-25 today from the NW. I'm sending you a pm with my phone number in case you get a wild hair and want to check out Mushroom Gulch today. I have high hopes the NW wind will fill in there and it will be epic if it does. Kitejumping, thanks for the beta on Lake Dil...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Hey CP, I live down in Salida and ride but almost never post here despite checking the recent activity. I've been riding all week down here on some frozen fields close to town that have a foot of snow. I know if you head up to Twin Lakes you'll probably run into some kiters there. There is a local n...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

I had such a great time riding Jarosa and finally putting some faces behind the screen names. It was an interesting day and despite the ribbing about being a snowboarder I loved it. It was tough for a while in the light winds and the lack of mobility to get the kite relaunched made me feel like a ko...
