Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Taylor Park sounds rad but I'm working my last graveyard shift tonight at the hospital and doubt I could get over there in time for a Wed. sesh after catching up on sleep. I figured that was the case with snow down low by Rito Hundo. I will keep an eye on the forum and see what ya'll come up with th...

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

We even got snow in Salida! I haven't ridden once this year and it's killing me. Matt, do you think Rito Hundo area would have enough coverage for riding? I'm just a lowly, snowboarder without a sled and probably can't make it up to any of the epic spots that you guys ride down there. Had some of my...

Re: FYI Colorado

Went up to Mushroom again yesterday, wasn't nearly as good as Wed. The wind had more north in it and it was gusty as hell. I got hit with some gusts while on my 8m. that had me concerned, plus the snow was heavier. I'm going up again today as I have concerns about how long it will last with temps in...

Re: FYI Colorado

Jeff, did we meet a few weeks ago at the Sanitarium before Ryan and I decided to go to Green Mtn. Res? I've always wondered about 11mile as I heard it can happen there too. Honestly, I'm a little over frozen lakes as terrain is what keeps me interested anymore and if I can find some rolling terrain....

Re: FYI Colorado

My buddy Ryan and I drove up to Dillon on what looked to be a promising forecast last Sunday to snowflakes falling straight down in a whisper of a breeze. Making a loop back through South Park the winds began to blow nicely and we scored a session at Chubb Ranch park on top of Trout Creek Pass. Upon...

Re: Roadtrip

Really awesome shots, you're giving Noah a run for his money! Any to think I lived in Steamboat all through the 90's and was a windsurfer then. To see that terrain on Buffalo Pass that I neglected kills me. I'll be keeping an eye on that area for promising conditions the next couple months.

Re: Results from the GTO

Sometimes I sure wished I lived closer to your cool Montana scene...I miss that place and it sounds like the conditions delivered this year. Is there anywhere to see any pics of the action? Gotta have pics.

Re: SW Colorado Snowkite Conditions

Chris, hopefully some of the riders out that way can chime in as I've never gotten a chance to explore that far west. I think that Lizard Head pass might be a good call for you...it looks like you can drive to the site. Also, you might want to pick some of the Grand Junction local's heads about Gran...

Creede shots from my old beater camera yesterday. Wished they turned out better but man was it fun!

Re: SW Colorado Snowkite Conditions

Creede or more specifically, Rito Hondo delivered the goods today. We got there at noon, the sun was trying to peek through, and I rigged up my 8 Envy. It wasn't quite enough so I came back to the car and almost had my 12 Envy rigged when conditions turned to a complete white out. So, out came the 8...
