Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

Downinder can you post photo of how you or Kevin L ridin with leash clipped on bar ? You mean to put it efore QR ? It's pretty easy to change to full suicide on the water, if you want to ride most of the time regular or half suicide. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/46856758535_8a8bf1cdf3.jpg

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

There many reasons why people don’t rig full suicide for big air. Once you let the kite go you can’t use any of self rescue techniques and swimming in the ocean at 30kts swell could be more statistically dangerous than occasional self release. Exactly. Let people rig how they want. There are reason...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

No. It is not that light, not even close. Tested it in a shop. Thanks for testing this downunder! Good to hear it's not super light. That's good. You know I have had some quick releases in the past where my thumb could get caught on the QR just like this. The one s I am using right now there's just...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

I think Ruben might have been saved if he had rigged full suicide here, then the kite would more than likely have caught him. As it is the kite is flagged at the top of the loop. You can still dump the kite if you are rigged full suicide, hit the QR and then the leash release. I won't second guess h...

Love ozone products, but this product is flawed. Get better Ruben, heal up and charge it again.

Re: How long should kite lines last?

Sure, 500 or 1000 is possible too! Line don't get weak from kiting they get weak from abrasion. 1,000 sesssions at roughly 100 days kiting per year that's 10 years for a line set, why not. As you can see from my lines above no way I get that many on mine lol. 30 is the number quoted by the original ...

Re: How long should kite lines last?

About undoing knot: Chewing by smooth pliers is actually best way to damage line. - In fact it is impossible to do it without some damage. not chewing with pliers you put it in your mouth and gently chew the knot with your teeth. it's always better to remove then knot than to let it be, so it's ok ...

Re: How long should kite lines last?

Hello kiters One youtube clip say that you should change lines every year. Let say if you kite 30 times a year and rinse the bar with fresh water everytime thoroughly? My lines connected to the kite is nice, but one power rope near the bar, the threads start to loosen up and some are cracked. Bough...

It will be safe but that dice used a high y control bar so it might fly a bit different. Try it.

Re: Harness replacement webbing

There is nothing special about that webbing you can buy it at the hardware store. Then you take either an industrial sewing machine or an awl and sew it together or get someone to do it for you. You might want to source the webbing yourself before you take it to a shoe shop or sailmaker. I usually j...
