Yeh, if red on black bothers you, take a Sharpie permanent pen to the red, then give it quick wipe to remove the black ink from the edges of the red now-black filler.

UV-resistance, PU doesn't have great UV, the dark, usually black, is likely there to improve UV resistance.

While sand inside the PU tubing is a sure cause of line wear, I'd like to suggest an additional cause : Salt ( sodium chloride ) crystals forming from the salt water trapped inside the PU tubing after a session. Medium viscosity ( 1,000 CSt ) silicone oil ; lubricates plastics & elastomers well, assists with sealing between moving surfaces, totally benign to pump materials.
