Re: Nassau

Just below the blue banner near the top of this forum page on the far right is a box with " Search " written in it. Type " Nassau Bahamas " there and hit the little magnifying glass button on the right side of the box. Read the threads that come up from that search. I don't believe there is anyone o...

Re: Upgrading Valve

Most Boston and similar large combo valves also have a ring of Velcro hook on the valve shoulder and a mating ring of Velcro felt/loop on the inside of the kite LE pocket around the valve opening to prevent the valve from rotating when you turn the valve plug or cap. You may want to include some Vel...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Thank you mixmatters for the links to the papers on Air Inflated Fabric Structures.

They do an excellent job of explaining how a pressurized fabric tube works, very enlightening.

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Thank you, Bruno, for your hard work to innovate and continue improving inflatable traction kites. Had to chuckle when I read some of the comments, thinking similar things were probably said decades ago by a few windsurfers when they saw your first kites whiz by. I sincerely hope you receive request...

Re: North 5th Element line replacement

Suspect your friend's lineset from Kiteboarding.com is Q-powerline Pro ( https://kiteboarding.com/proddetail.asp?prod=q-powerline_pro_lineset ). Watch the video at the bottom of this page for more info about the line. Very durable line, the original Q-powerline was developed for landboard & kite bug...

Re: Bandit 8th edition bladder question

During a screening leak test ( kite pumped hard & coated with soapy water ) the air will leak out the nearest hole in the Dacron. Often that's a stitching hole at the LE closure seam, canopy-LE seam, or another spot with stitching. Leak will typically be in that general area.

Re: Bandit 8th edition bladder question

To find the super tiny pinholes, you need to inflate the bladder in sections between the 1-pump valves. This will allow you to pump up that section of bladder to super drum tight pretty well across the section, stretching the bladder maybe 15 - 20 % circumferentially and opening up those tiny holes....

Re: Bandit 8th edition bladder question

Highly doubt your patches are leaking unless you didn't clean the bladder before applying the patches and they have come off during re-installation. Might want to check on the old bladder the location of some of the new pinholes. If they are repeatably close to the original ones ( same pattern ) the...
