Re: Sliding rope harness accessory

Why not just use a carabiner? Less than $10 for me personally, after 20 years of hooked-in kite-surfing, this is absolutely the lightest, safest, most simple and cheapest (non rope-wearing) solution. Carabine with incorporated low-friction ring: I’m interested. Where do you find them? Cheers

Re: Sliding rope harness accessory

Needs to be a locking carabiner to make sure the lines can't get caught in it (or your hand!), and also corrosion resistant. I couldn't find anything last time I looked! Why not just use a carabiner? Less than $10 I've used the Black Diamond Litewire carabiner from REI for 2 years now with no issue...

Slingshot T3. At least that was the last time I rode a twin tip.

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

If you want more ICU beds, just pay the money. Usually cost more than $1 million USD/ICU bed to build. The question is what can you/we afford. Society can plan, but not pay for black swan events. Completely isolate or take your chances.

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

Italy 4000 dead/60 million people. Looks like 1/15000 people dying so far from COVID-19. Risk of dying from trauma per year is roughly 1/8300. Just trying to find perspective. Obviously, we don't know yet where COVID-19 eventually ends in mortality for the general population. Hope we can hunker down...

Brazil Experts-Parque Lencois Maranhenses question

Hi all, Planning a trip to Brazil in fall. Is mid-November too late to kite Parque Lencois Maranhenses? Are the lagoons still full enough if based out of Santo Amaro? Wondering if it'd be better to just stay in Atins one more day/night rather than trek it to Santo Amaro. The lagoons in Parque Lencoi...

Re: The Ultimate Line Hack

It's most useful if you're helping someone else get on the water asap. Super easy with two people. Maybe saves a couple minutes. But if you're helping a newb, maybe saves you 5 min+!

Re: Slingshot Apollo 60 wing

Curious about the difference between the Apollo wing and the 633? I currently ride the 633 and love it. But one thing thatholds me back is fear of falling on the sharp wings. I’m wondering if it’d be worth buying an Apollo for simply learning new foiling skills. I’ve already had a couple war wounds ...

Dude, the rebel is calling your name. You won’t be disappointed. But to be sure, it’s always best to demo if you have the option. But as the above poster mentioned, you’d probably be fine with either. I still occasionally see some big, strong peeps buckle the 3 struts under big load. Have fun!
