Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2012

I, too, am more impressed with the efficiency of kites at the low end of the spectrum. The high end stuff gets in the record books, but I don't kite in 50 mph wind on glassy-smooth water. I DO try to kite in sub-10 mph wind, and when I do the water is pretty smooth. Don Well said Don. Now how about...

Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2012

Ram Airs (eg Flysurfer) will continue to perform inadequately compared to inflatables. The reason.... Ram Airs are aerodynamically inferior compared to inflatables. The Ram airs fail on all parameters: Lift, consistency, speed, manoeuvreability, range, and general aerodynamic handling. Ram air sale...

Re: Who will be first to invent that?

Supa is on to something.A wind speed meter operating the same way the IPHONE does it (with the microphone) and incorporate it into a new generation GO PRO'S for kiting. It would transmit to us in real time the wind speed when the kite is "flying stationary".A wrist type gizmo is all that would be ne...

Re: What kite brands are true to size ?

Slingshot RPM isn't even true size within their own range: See the 10 (yellow) compared to the 12 (purple) http://mediabase.hanglos.net/large/2011/10/pic20111024ZD7Dka69.JPG In most cases Slingshot kites are bigger than their size. Do manufacturers include the surface area of leading edge and wingt...

Re: Best light Wind kite....

WHY is to soooo important that you must know the size of the kite? Let me try to rationalize my purchasing decision when I got my LW kite. I was looking for something to use in my summer holiday spot, which mean low wind and ridding alone most of the time. Blade light-wind 17m kite versus Epic ligh...

Re: Best light Wind kite....

Once you get the INFINITY v2, please put it to the test and make sure it is blowing 6 to 10 knots. WaterManFitness did not beleive me and the videos or any one else who has tried the INFINITY v1 or v2. But then decided to invest on the INFINITY v2 for light winds. Now look at him..... the heavy wei...

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL KITEFORUM VIEWERS! :D Let's clarify the TRUTH about real 6 to 10 knots of wind power..To say that the "wind averaged 8 KNOTS" every one can agree that in a period of 5 minutes on...
