Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

Latest figures released by China Mobile show that they have lost 8.116 million users in Jan and Feb. chinamobile.jpg An interesting graph. I suppose it could be economic as people were unemployed and couldn’t afford to pay. Chilling to consider the alternative. I wonder what the real numbers are in...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

If death rate is even somewhere close to 1% this will be a complete disaster in places like Nigeria. Just no way to stop it. Obviously positive that the average age in many of the "lesser developed" countries are young, but still. This is likely to kill A lot of people in countries with widespread ...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

Looking back over this thread makes interesting reading. 10 days ago no one was really seriously worried about the Virus (myself included, I thought it was going to be serious but nothing like this) and the UK government were saying that it should not effect life too much and that the plan was for p...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

I think the current numbers out of Germany are heartening but Italy. Spain, and France are very concerning, It is possible that Germany has a better healthcare system with more ICU facilities, so are in a position to keep critical patients alive for longer. It might also be that the patients are in...

Re: covid 19 closing beaches, any more to report?

So in the end I am not sure what his point is. Really hope he is closer to the truth than the Norwegian doctor saying 1.5m dead in Britain etc. would be quite realistic. She didn't seem emotionally stable though - if that is because she had lost control of the scope of things or is actually correct...

Re: covid 19 closing beaches, any more to report?

This info came from my uncle, a doctor. Plus several scientists on media. the CDC estimates so far this season there have been at least 34 million flu illnesses and 350,000 hospitalizations - Mar 09, 2020 That's a 1.03% hospitalization rate. Now nCov-19 has around a 13% hospitalization rate. How do...

Jumped species? Daily Mail alert! :D
Covid 19 is a zoonotic virus (they think it jumped from an animal to a human at the Wuhan market). It did not mutate from an existing virus infecting humans.

Re: covid 19 closing beaches, any more to report?

that no one has any resistance to. False. :nono: FAKE news! :angryfire: I am not a medical professional but from what I understand Covid 19 is a totally new virus, only people who have caught this and recovered have anti-bodies for it. I also have an idea that because it is something that has recen...
