Re: switch element vs caution spitfire....can anyone compare

I have a 13m Element not the 9m, but I can give you an overall idea of what the kite is about. Basically this is designed for stability and allround use. The closest kite to it is the RPM, although RPM is more wakestyle oriented and the Element is more Wave/freeride oriented. It is probably the most...

Re: Best Upwind? Renegade, Kahoona, or Element?

Will one of these be good for upwind to learn on? http://www.myplykiteboards.com/ For a beginner board you want something a bit bigger. You should consider a 2nd hand board because unlike kites they go on forever as long as you dont lose them  . A good idea would be to buy a 2nd hand beginner...

Re: Best Upwind? Renegade, Kahoona, or Element?

The kite will only really have a fraction to do with upwind ability. Loving the posts saying this and that have better build quality. Do you really think that Best would offer a lifetime warranty on manufacturing & material defects if they were built worse? I am not saying anything about Bests buil...

Re: Best Upwind? Renegade, Kahoona, or Element?

Renegade is a bit pricey compared to the Kahoona or Element, and I cant comment on Epic kites because I have never met anyone in person who has tried one. To be honest I really dont understand the way epic have priced their kites, they are more expensive than some of the major established brands who...

Re: Best Upwind? Renegade, Kahoona, or Element?

Element has very good relaunch, almost automatic and is also good upwind. It is also incredibly stable, probably one of the most stable kites on the market. If you are looking for an allround kite then it is definitely worth checking out - best thing to do is to see if there is a team rider near you...

Re: No pump with my new kite ?

The switch pump is good quality and worth checking out if you want to buy one at a good price. Is is something they are buying from another manufacturer or making themselves?

Re: 2012 slingshot RPM review

RPM is certainly a great kite. Have slingshot dealt with the problem of the trailing edge flapping itself to destruction?

@Schmidy Thanks for the reply, I am definitely looking into a freerace type board. Seems to make alot more sense than buying a big kite :thumb:

Re: Airush 2012 New Sectors -- 54, 60, and 66cm V3

In what sort of wind can the average rider go upwind on a Sector with a 12m?

Re: Bandit 5, Naish Park, Switch Element. Comparisons?

@TomW: yes totally agree, it is impossible to be objective and online reviews are not going to encourage anyone to buy a kite in my opinion.Reviews in magazines are probably even less reliable since they are making a living from the advertising revenue and need a long term relationship with the adve...
