Re: covid 19 closing beaches, any more to report?

This info came from my uncle, a doctor. Plus several scientists on media. the CDC estimates so far this season there have been at least 34 million flu illnesses and 350,000 hospitalizations - Mar 09, 2020 That's a 1.03% hospitalization rate. Now nCov-19 has around a 13% hospitalization rate. How do...

Jumped species? Daily Mail alert! :D
Covid 19 is a zoonotic virus (they think it jumped from an animal to a human at the Wuhan market). It did not mutate from an existing virus infecting humans.

Re: covid 19 closing beaches, any more to report?

bTW...influenza killed 25.000 people in 2017/2018...and Life kept normal. This is nothing like the seasonal flu, this is a highly infectious SARS variant that is spreading like wildfire and that no one has any resistance to. But I hope the people outside of the medical field who are comparing this ...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

The target infection rate (yes, you heard it right) is at least 60% because at this level and above (assuming, as seems very likely, that those who recover will have developed some immunity) in future outbreaks the transmission rate would be less than 1 thus not developing into another epidemic. . ...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

Stay safe everyone, this looks like it is going to be bad. It does seem that the seriousness of this epidemic is finally sinking into UK public brains. My wife is medical so it's very likely that I'm going to be infected. Fortunately I have no preexisting health conditions * * Approx. death rates f...

The others you give it to, the same. Do you have any idea how many viruses there are circulating at any g...
