Re: Board choice help

Check out the 2013 carbonKICK from Litewave. Really good value for a TeXtreme carbon board. The video tells a lot. 14 years in kite business and going strong.

Re: XLKites and Phil Nelson

I heard today that Phil died on Thursday and I've been really sad all day. Phil was the coolest, most humble, great guy. I will really miss him and feel an empty place inside me now. So sorry to see Phil pass too soon.

Video of DV8ing in Nor Cal last week....

The backwards riding may have actually saved my life a few weeks ago. It's a great way to get across a thick/heavy kelp bed.

Re: What is the most durable kite currently available?

GK kites are very durable. Nobody has a stronger LE seam than GK. Look at how we sew the webbing into the seam. No rips on the seam EVER since we started doing it this way in 2007.

Re: Lightwave DV8

Try riding your DV8 with skate shoes. It makes a HUGE difference in leverage. I've been using regular "World Industries" skate shoes, but they make wake-skate shoes with better drainage that would probably even be better. Your foot is curved on the edges, compresses, and rolls around. When you put o...

I ended up to my neck in it with several strands wrapped around my body, bar, harness, everything. First it pulled out my harness pad. The kelp on my bar sent the kite into a dive but I luckly, ...
