Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I did my first lesson with the Peak 4 and have some more insights on relaunch to share. If you keep rear line tension when it hits the water you can reverse launch it okay. Trouble is if it gets too much water caught inside the leading edge trough then it just starts to pivot instead of reverse laun...

curious as to why riding a soft top surfboard would have any effect on weeds and fins?
They still suffer from weeds, it's just there is no fin box to put in FCS or Future fins.

I have 2 pairs of quad, 1 futures 1 FCS for sale:

They are very nice fins. I don't use them anymore because I switched to riding soft top surfboards.

Re: The Duotone Wing

They have a minimum recommended wind of 12 knots even for the giant 7m wing:

That 7m wing looks like a real handful:

Re: Neil Pryde Glide Reports/Reviews?

No shim this time, I had tried a shim with the large stab in the past but didn't find it to make that much difference.

Re: Neil Pryde Glide Reports/Reviews?

I tried out L wing and S stab last night and so far it's my favourite. I find the L + L is a bit too locked in while the L + S gives me more flowy carving.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Got out for a session on the 5m Peak 4 and the wind got up to 16g20. First time using any depower with this kite. Definitely in the upper area of where I'd want to be flying this kite, the flapping becomes a bit annoying even though it still flies fine and could handle higher winds. Bar pressure inc...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

What you are probably referring to is the single skin foils, and yes, they drift about 100x better than any tube kite. These kites have really poor upwind though so they are limited to hydrofoiling.

Re: If you had to re-buy all your kites tomorrow, what would you get?

Since this is in the Hydrofoil forum if I was limited to rebuying kites for foiling only I would get:

3m Peak 4
4m Peak 4
5m Peak 4
8m Peak 4

In reality I ride my surfboard more than my hydrofoil so I'd get:

5/7/9/12/17m in which ever 1 strut kite I could get the best deal on
5m Peak 4

Re: The Duotone Wing

when they get stock in the Gorge in July You better put in a pre-order ASAP if you want a wing this summer Chris. I wouldn't expect being able to drive down and pick and choose this summer. Sadly the wing you'll want for up here wont be much good down in the Gorge either. I would say 5m is probably...
