Re: Kite size question

...to elaborate further on my comments specific to riding on Maui: The sizes I indicated are only for my riding preference. I have friends here that rarely ride smaller than 8m. Their (Maui) quiver is 8, 10, 12. Hoping to hear back from more of you regarding dream quiver sizing in your area. Or, I'l...

Re: Kite size question

Aloha Jeff, Since you mention Maui, I'll give you my two cents. My feeling is that kite size choice is specific to many variables, including, but not limited to: local riding conditions, rider experience, rider size, personal preference, and the list goes on. My best guess from what you've written, ...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

My apologies to some posters that I had to log off before I could respond to and thank everyone. And thanks for the stoke since. Thanks for posting the link to previous discussion. I had seen the video, but not the dialogue, which is probably a good thing. Yesterday was my first post ever, and I sur...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

Seems like the only need for struts is for relaunch... Is that true? Like the new Naish Ride, seems nice but can have some issues with relaunch with only two side struts. My Park does a little better with three. Why don't we just have little fiberglass struts like on a hang glider? Seems like that ...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

Bill Hansen has been working on a similar concept in the past, it seems that the market is gradually getting ready for "out of the box" designs. I have my doubts about "no strut" reraunch, would like to see a solution to that. Bill Hansen; Windwing, right? If so, seems to have had a pretty innovate...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

I'm trying to understand how the no strut kite works. the only thing i can come up with is mega pressure. Have you stiffened the le bladder and pump 20-30 psi into it? ps is it a light wind only kite? the vid seems to be light wind. ??? A strutless kite dont need more (nor less) LE pressure, just t...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

Love the concept, when will they come on the market and for how much? Unless, you need further testers, seasons nearly starting in WesternAustralia :D How would that kite handle in the waves? Cheers Rich Thanks for the stoke Rich! - Market stuff, only time will tell. - Testers in WA? Sick. Can I co...

Re: Strutless kite in development on Maui

Hi Ronnie. I agree that 3 line could be interesting. I've been spending a lot of time with all kinds of bridle configurations. Some leaning toward 3 line concepts really slow down the responsiveness. Was a surprise to me. The geometry of this design is pretty unusual, so seems like it follows some ...

Thanks iblocalsurfer. (Is it getting old, me thanking everyone, one at a time? If you take the time to post stoke, the least I can do is thank you for it, right?)
