Just checked in and wind is clearly blowing with nearby WindAlert station showing around 40 knots, but RedBull LiveStream is on hold.

Forecast still looking really strong, SW 35-45 knots, part of a much larger system working its way up the channel, sadly already having claimed some rescue boat personnel in France. Let's hope everyone can stay safe tomorrow.

Two thoughts. First, I think James is right and you have the kite fully depowered, which leads to the steering or back lines being slack. This is a dangerous way to launch as you then have little or no steering. If the wind is so strong you are worried about the launch, perhaps go to middle depower,...

The sailing record was only elevated that high when they figured out special smaller foils, and the trick in part was then getting past the lower speeds to where the smaller foils started working. A third vote for a seat harness. I'm 63 and in medium shape, and jump a lot. I don't exercise at all apart from kiting, and find a seat harness takes care of all the problems others complain about like sore stomach muscles when jumping. My approach is to wet the knot, gently flatten with a hammer, then work a sharp needle carefully through the knot, attempting to ensure you get between the overlapping lines, not through one of them.
