It also mean you can pick up an R1V2 at a big discount and have an amazing kite!

Re: Nico Parlier finishes off with a perfect score in Hyeres champagne sailing conditions

Awesome performance from Nico. To think that he won sixteen races and might NOT have won gold with three race left though! This ISAF/Olympic "it has to come down to the last race to make it exciting" is yet another negative against this format of racing. Part of the skill of racing, for me, is the c...

Re: Post your polar and VMG

I am not sure of that. To show apparent wind, you the value of the real wind must be fed. Will need to check if somewhere in the program you're supposed to give the wind speed. I wonder what assumption (in case you don't feed in the wind speed) the program makes to show the wind vectors. Good you p...

Re: Some questions about racingrules

Take a look at Appendix F in the RRS link you posted, they have the kite specific rules:
"Zone The area around a mark within a distance of 30 metres. A
kiteboard is in the zone when any part of her hull is in the zone"

Re: Restore Foot Strap Inserts?

just go to your local boat supplies shop and get the next gauge larger screw and screw it in. The plastic inserts are big enough to be over-sized several times without problems. If you hunt around there are also screws with extra large thread size which are ideal and will never strip out. This. Jus...

What awful conditions! Way to sunny and warm for my liking. You're not even wearing any neoprene!

Re: Update from Lewis Crathern - Please Help

Perhaps Redbull could help him out too? It seems like they had the most to gain from his participation, they should look after the talent they use to make their event a success.

Benoit Tremblay. Go look him up, he knows what he's doing. Nice armchair quarterbacking though.

Re: New Race Kites?

Formula is dead so there's no stupid release dates anymore. I'd guess you'll see new kites at the first Hydrofoil Pro Tour stop, and probably the top guys will have proto's year round. It's a development class :)

Re: DIY Foil Kites

You should be able to get Chikara direct from Vlieger Op http://vliegerop.com/brands/chikara-ripstop-nylon-fabric/ I contacted Porcher to ask if I could buy Skytex from them (it's used in paragliders 32g/m2). The minimum was 150 mts @ 6.80€/mt in white. That was too much for me to buy myself, but if...
