Re: Rocker Modification for early takeoff

You know how a short fuselage is easier to get it rocking.....same with tail kicks. It does actually feel easier to get it rocking.

Re: Air screw - do you use it?

never used it on windsurf boards. All my boards today have gore-tex vents.

Re: Wing Boards: Fanatic VS Fone VS Naish VS Custom Carbon

We’ve got people coming to winging with no similar sporting experience. Treating boards like a plastic kayak.

Not saying this applies here, but not jumping to conclusions on durability without knowing “the person” who dinged it.

Re: Re: Moses 1000 reviews wanted

Sounds like the 1000 is no different, than other similar wings (Axis 900 and 1000) If you try to force it to fly too early, without adequate board speed, you just pop up and plop down, then repeat. Until you learn the technique of pumping the right amount, to get it to squirt forward and gain speed,...

Re: Armstrong Foil is junk

Manufacturing defect in my opinion. Wild guess, but looks like not enough mold release when the pulled core at the factory.

Re: Need winging advise

You’ve lost the big power spike of the kite to get going.

Now it takes pumping skill, wing and board in combination. That doesn’t come right away for anyone.

The solution is simply more wind until those light wind skills come.

Re: Mast screws. How tight?

T-nuts are brass because they won’t seize/self weld when a stainless screw is over tightened. Idiot proof.

Many T-nuts look like stainless steel, but they are actually nickel plated brass.

Re: Mast position on Armstrong board

the HS1850 while large, is a modern slim wing. So it doesn’t have the massive beginner lift of older thick foils. That being said, it does go in very light wind with good pump technique. You will need to be more powered as a newbie until you have the pumping skill. I prefer the HS1850 with 300 tail ...

Re: Board Size Guidance

Not intending to skew off topic... I am also located in FL & considered one of these setups, but concerned after reading about heat-related issues like eps off-gassing & delaminating. Is there certain board construction that may hold up better in the higher heat areas? that is why EPS boards have a...

Thanks Dwight, so I'm best to skip the Sky Wing 95L and go for the Naish S25 5'10" 110L, in your mind?

PS are the the OG Kure Beach Dwight from back in the very early fokiten flame war days?
Yes, retired in Florida. NC too cold in Winter.
