True. I hurt my foot more than one and a half years ago from the strap, couldn’t kite and could barely walk. Decided it was taking forever to heal, so started riding a skimboard all the time, in every condition. Did that for about 6 months. Then got a surfboard, which I rode half the time. Then got ...

that board already has inserts right? here is some info if you don't like the stock inserts: http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2328834&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=10 but, you will need to end up riding out of the straps most of the time on that board, because the straps are positione...

if you kite in real storms, you will rig for the gusts, not the lulls. there is a big difference from that and rick's stories about florida people being accidentally caught in a storm. i actually think a real storm kiter is much safer than the unaware people who throw up a normal kite and then get b...

ride it without straps to learn for yourself where the feet go. if you put straps on it, i would get a narrow skim, otherwise it will be hard to edge well, on either edge. seems like if you go this route of bastardization, you should go all the way and probably throw fins on as well, to keep from sl...

hmm, maybe my 06 waroos will be appreciating in value...

i'll have to buy a whole bunch of the small ones now, so i never run out of them, like other kite eccentrics have done with weird old kites they fell in love with.

damn.

keep bar pressure low or tunable on the non-pro.

i put 1/8 inch (3mm) amsteel inserts in the bridles where the pulley runs (like 07 waroo style). pain to get all the lengths right, but totally bomber, and trivially replaced if they ever do wear. now i can kite stupidly far offshore with one less risk of death.

weak! go back to mumbling about your light wind techniques. what do you think people said about surfing peahi etc. in the beginning? what about those 100ft kayak drops? and first ascents, and descents? not all sports are meant to be safe. too many old people on this forum who should be riding a tric...

if you can get a flat 9m kite to deliver the same power as a normal 12m kite, which most people can, then you should consider that as well. fast, efficient flat kites have great low end, but i agree with monkeyair that the low end isn't quite as good in waves because it can be hard to keep your spee...

ikitesurf has gobs of historical data that is available in chart form... i wouldn't trust any average noaa sensor, because they can be sheltered etc. what you really want is locally knowledgeable people to mention the handful of nearby sensors that are good for different locations and different wind...

yes! along with kiting up glaciers to do classic big mountain riding on the way down, this stands as one of the greatest accomplishments and most perfect creations in the sporting world.
