Re: Where is good spot to learn wave kitesurfing?

+1 for learning to ride a surfboard not in the waves. If you're coming from a twintip, there are two things you have to learn. Riding a surfboard and handling waves. It's much easier if you can separate the two.

Re: Busted Rib

I can't really speak to rotations, etc from personal experience, but it seems like there's loads of people that can throw down just fine with shorts or a seat harness! A few years ago I had some back issues (different - herniated disk) and switched from a waist harness to the DaKine Nitrous shorts. ...

Re: first time on 5m kite and HF

Use 5 and 6 m2 kites very very often, but small kites below 5 m2 a bit more rare. Smaller than 5 m2 needed only when wind exceeds 20 knots for my average weight, but happens too of course, in conditions not suitable for surfboards but can be awesome for wave hydrofoiling or just having fun in chop ...

Re: Home made harness idea

IMG_6221.JPG IMG_6220.JPG This was supposed to be just a prototype. It's so comfortable that I haven't changed anything. Re: Home made harness idea

I have - for the last 2 years I have been riding with a waist harness I made. I started making mine when the Ride Engine custom fit harnesses came out. I knew I could do the carbon fibre work and learned from their process how they did the mould. I used 4 layers of Kevlar and 5 of carbon. It is stif...

Re: Convertible surf board

The convertible Mitu. I demoed that just as a surfboard and loved it. It comes in a KF box as standard. But, talking to the distributor, he said they would make one off Tuttle versions for people. No idea if they will still do that or if they'd do a plate.

Re: biggest regret purchase

Another regret purchase was a Slingshot Space Pickle. I had hoped it was going to be an awesome light wind board that was still playful and fun. In the end it wasn't much better than my normal board at the time, but turned like a snail even when you stamped on the tail and being tall I would dig the...

My first C "perfect for learning" kite.
Hahaha, me too! I have a 9m Naish Raven at home that I've never flown. It's 11 (?) years old and still crispy!
