Re: Cabrinha PU mainline depower tube

I'm now pretty averse to line covered by tubes. Last season, I had a bar fail because over time, sand got down through the tube on the back lines into the foam bar ends. Eventually, this wore through the line where it attached to the bar. And because you can't see what's going on in there, you have ...

Re: Who makes their own line sets?

Get your line material from Alibaba. It'll cost you about $15 for a set (at least it did with SK75, but there's no reason not to get SK95 now). You'll find the line material manufacturers for several big brands on there. The only downside is one spool of line is 1000m.

Re: Self-teaching

..and stay away from any beach I frequent because you will be the guy that hurt someone else and gets kiting banned. This is an important reason you shouldn't teach yourself. At a lot of beaches, it feels like a matter of "when not if" someone does something stupid and gets kiting banned from that ...

Re: 3D printing of kite plastic parts: low friction sliding ring

My apologies if I missed something, but what is wrong with the Antal ring...? Antal ring is fine, only issue ALU doesn't like salt water and so much friction when rope catches some sand. I've been using an Antal low friction ring for a couple of years now. It looks the same as when I bought it. Pre...

Re: Stance ?

Learn to ride all four stances! For me, the different stances feel best in different setups. I use them all in different circumstances. Sometimes, the stance that feels best isn't the obvious choice, so you don't know until you try. And being comfortable trying means being able to ride all four well.

Re: High wind surfboard to add to my nugget

Not a specific recommendation. But, you should try a lot of boards before buying one. And definitely don't just go with the most popular recommendation you get from this thread. Surfboard choice is very personal. It depends a lot on your conditions and how you ride. So, you'll find there's a ton of ...

Re: Kite designers, don't do this s**t please

Ah well, not quite sure what to say about the Wainman bars. Although I haven't used their kites for a long while now, I continued to use their bars. I had one bar that had the same thing happen as with yours. It happened after only 2 seasons. I think it was the previous revision of the bar to yours....
