Re: 2018 Airush Core Foil - Overview & Test (Video)

The last of the big boys to join the foilboarding trend? Is it only my impression, or do all the big brands pick the cheapest production methods available? Aluminium masts. Plastic wings. Etc. Why would that be? Is this simply their design/brand philosophy? Cheapest production for the biggest margi...

Re: Strutless Kites Cloud vs. Gong

I have a Gong strutless 12m. Nice kite. Higer AR than the Cloud V2 I believe 8.5 I tried. Comparable to the naish trip I also own. The Gong and BRM dont like being overpowerd. The Gong LE will distort at the front. The BRM LE will bend between the last bridle point of front line and the backline. Tr...

Re: Deal on Airush ultra vs. Naish Boxer

I will go to the Boxer since my daughter has renewed interest in the sport :-) a bit less coin in it and durable construction is nice. She is afraid taking my strutless kites more than 200 of the beach... ;-)

Thanks all for the input..

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

I was thinking about this. purely emperical. Lets say the kite has 60kg pulling force in normal riding with some speed. during a jump it has more pull, say 120kg pull- I know , I know this is all wrong, but dont know any physics. so lets say im loaded to do a jump, 120kg on center lines. CL acciden...

Im becoming more sceptical to making carbon bar due risk of failure. The more I think about it, the more concerned I'm getting...
Why not test it and see if it can handle the force you assume it will face?

Easy enough to support it at the tips and hang weights from the centre.

Re: Advice from an older married kiter to a young one

I instructed my daughters myself and kept them safe. Always distance... My girlfriend took lessons resulting in tangled kites and injury to the hand due to snapped leash. IMHO the commercial interests of the kiteschool jeopardized safety. Too crowded spot... most kiteschools did like hers... don't s...

Good idea indeed. Borrowed from Evan. But he will certainly not have been the first/only one that came up with this idea....

Re: Bar questions Cabrinha and Ozone

Yeah that makes more sense. Can you still feed the brummel splice ok with a knot in the loop or does that part not need to go through the line anyway? Also, what diametre dyneema rope is best? Q1: Yes you could. And no it doesn't need to go through if you do the side with the knot first. Q2: I use ...
