Re: Building a state-of-the-art foil kite

Not a post,

a web page with "how to start sewing the kite".

No, not all information is on the net. The fragmented information is, but not all, not even close.

And than have a look at this and involvement in the project:

Re: Building a state-of-the-art foil kite

To say Soul is a middle-low performance kite is a bit too much when it easily beats all LEI's and all other foil kites not including race kites by its L/D. But I'm not saying everyone should buy a Soul because there are many other things than L/D which are essential in kites. Soul is the best foil ...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

No, it is not. Sorry to disappoint you guys but the release is made to be rotated for left hand riders. And with this one the Red plastic can't be rotated back so the flat side is not facing you. If I had this release I would torn it in into a pieces with testing... Which reminds me of discussion ab...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

It’s a classic...board away and have feet forward into shallow water. Like beginners at water start...too much power pulls them over the edge, board away and not knowing how dangerous it is they pull the legs forward. And if shallow, legs hit ground. If you had landed on your butt first, as explain...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

Made a short video of the ozone release>> https://www.facebook.com/wavepunk.okinawa/videos/653591245082416/?t=3 It actually rides up quite a lot without opening, even twisted. I wouldn't say its super easy to open, just about right? In my opinion the release top is a bit bulky, sticking out, so eas...

Re: mad crash on a foil

Dear downunder. You may not have seen a kite much but it comes with big SAFETY warnings to let you know there is danger. Ditto for foils. Now this is a forum on hydrofoils... Are you understanding where i'm going? Yes there is danger!!!! :o I have actually broken my neck to involuntarily demonstrat...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

Sand under water.

Not more shallow than Toby's local. Would never break it if did not kick the board off.

But thats me, I build and break stuff :)

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

Here is a very clear view of what actually happened to Ruben, and it has a voice over from Ruben as well. https://www.instagram.com/p/BxIKF9sl9RM/?igshid=bdohwsd806f1 This explanation is laughable. There was no hand movement in this direction to release it. Or Im blind. There is however the whole r...

Re: Ruben Lenten - My most painful kiteboarding accident (broke my leg)

The question is, could he have done something better? Unfortunately he cut the landing from the shore camera...cannot exactly see how he hits the water. Because with every crash you should lift up your legs to rather with your butt, to get the energy away from your board and legs/knees. Check my ho...

Re: mad crash on a foil

Awesome of awesomeness of how actually jump with a hf might end up. Combined with a foil. Less and less appealing to me unfortunately. In the context of Ruben injuries, this would cut me in half. Florian been a very lucky guy. I routinely jump on my foil and consider it pretty safe actually.. from ...
