Re: Backroll hand drag transition?

I've been working on backroll transitions and don't loop the kite. The problem I find is that when I come around and land, I find that I have floated a bit too close to the kite. I then slightly sink back into the water and don't have enough power to ride away in the other direction. I therefore hav...

Re: Best Boots for Kitesurf

I've had two generations of Slingshot Rads and I'm very happy with it. They are not as easy to get in and out (lace system) but the snug fit it's just great. I tried velcro and it felt loose. They last a lot too. The only part that falls apart (after a lot of sessions) it's the liner but you can ge...

Re: Wetsuits

I have a 5/3 wetsuit and in the spring I wear underneath a hooded vest http://www.silentsports.com/Wetsuits-and-Waterwear/Mens-Wetsuits/Neilpryde-Hooded-Vest-S/NW3211/ You can also wear a neo hat/toque overtop for added warmth. On the beach put on a Neo shelter/rigging jacket so you don't get cold c...

Re: Cuba in March instead of Hatteras.... ?!

Hey I'm not going this year, but ponder the thought of going mid-March some year to Hatteras due to the mid-winter Break for wife and kids. Warmer there than Canada where I am and no snow. Looks like it's 50-60 Fahrenheit currently, so I'm looking for feedback on others who've done a week in Hattera...

Re: tethered launch vs "stationary" object

I haven't had time to read all of the posts in this thread so sorry if this has already been said: Tethering to a heavy picnic table shouldn't be a problem on most days if one knows what they are doing. If it's extremely gusty, not just manageable gusts but REAL gusty, and blowing as high as 50 knot...

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade 2013 and 1x bar compatibilty

Sorry if I missed it already being explained... ...I'm wondering given the adjustments available with the 2014 Overdrive, can a rider get away with using the same bar/lines on a 12m 2014 kite as a 9m kite? Or should a narrower bar be used on the 9m? I'm thinking one could just buy one bar/lines. Or ...

Re: Cabrinha Overdrive question

I have a question relating to how Overdrive affects the bottom end of the kite. I haven't had the pleasure of using the 2014 bar yet... so I'm wondering: if using for example a Cabrinha Switchblade 12m, if I put the bar into "Overdrive" when the wind gets down to say around 10-12 knots, would it ess...

Re: Backroll question

When starting to learn and master backrolls, does it matter what kind of kite is used when hooked in? Example: racing vs. wakestyle kite?

Re: Share your Cabrinha SB 2014 Experience

For those of you who own the 2014 12m Switchblade, would you say an experienced kiteboarder weighing 84kg could ride a 12m with a large "door-style" twin tip in about 9/10 knots? The reason for asking is it helps determine whether the 14m is the choice for those 10knot summer days or whether one cou...
