Re: Question on Cabrinha Kites

Just wondering, how would a 48cm Cabrinha bar rigged with a larger kite (that would normally use a 55cm bar) affect performance? Turn faster? I haven't actually tried to be honest. How would using a larger bar (55cm) on a smaller (say 10m) kite? The reason for trying would be to save time when needi...

Re: snow kite- is it hard as its look like?

Unless the snow is really deep, you don't have to be as powered up. You can often find yourself nicely powered on a smaller kite, one that you'd be using on a high wind day on water. A downside is the cold. You have to bundle up for winter, and when the wind is blowing, there's wind chill. I find my...

Re: Who's been in my shoes? Being a beginner sucks!

I've been kiting for almost 10 years, and I still have those sessions! Sometimes the chop bucks me around, sometimes I'm just not on my game. Kiteboaridng to me is all about chasing… and then you catch it, it's the best thing ever. We're always looking for that illusive session. That feeling when y...

Re: North Carolina Newbie Looking for Advice.

I too agree Ty Luckett is the best! He also recommends using a shorts/seat harness so maybe wait to see if you like that before buying and/or getting a waist harness. Given your size, you may want to try the Nobile Flying Carpet or a Spleene Monster Door. Easier to get up and riding on. Not so great...

Re: What about light wind boards? Calling the Average Joes..

In TT's, my choice is the Nobile Flying Carpet. Stafford I second Nobile's Flying Carpet. If riding in choppy conditions, it's not that great around the shorebreak as the tip of the board can easily get swallowed by a wave if not paying attention. You sort of have to do a bit of a "hop" over until ...

Re: Nitrous Shorts Harness/ Seat Harness good for hurt ribs?

I like the Nitrous Shorts Harness... the only thing I don't like is that they seem a bit short. While out riding I find the bottom of the shorts pull up while riding making it possibly look like I'm wearing "short shorts". I have to reach and pull down each leg. While walking around the beach they'r...

Re: Driving to Hatteras

Didn't really feel sleepy, just got really sick of driving after a while haha. I've never driven to Hatteras or Florida by myself. As above, I can see not so much being sleepy if I left around say 7am for Hatteras. It's more just being bored of being in the car and sitting for so long. Guess the tr...

Re: Light wind kite testing!

Rate them by how well they stay in the air in the lightest of wind. I was out on a light wind day on Maui. All kites fell out of the sky at about the same time except the cloud. The last of us (4 or 5 kiters) on the water were riding race boards and foils. The guy on the Cloud set it on a wing tip ...
