Re: Driving to Hatteras

Cheers again all! All posts are helpful. I'm driving down on a Friday, so if I leave early enough I should be south of Philadelphia before rush hour. Plan to stay just north of the VA border and then early next morning head out for the final leg. All this makes me wish I was going this weekend!

Driving to Hatteras

For Canadians living in Ontario and Quebec, and from New York State and elsewhere in the North Eastern U.S. states, I have some questions: If you drive solo to Hatteras, do you drive the upwards of 13 hours straight? Or, do you break up the drive and stay over in a hotel? I'm considering 9 hours dri...

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade 2014

I'm considering a 2014 Switchblade 14m. I'm 84kg or 185 pounds. Any feedback on the top end for this kite? 17 knots with a small or rockered board? How about bottom end... 9 knots with a big board?

Re: Share your Cabrinha SB 2014 Experience

Maybe this has already been asked on this KiteForum, but I'm wondering if anyone has ridden both the 2012 Switchblade and the 2014 version? Can you say whether you like the 2012 or 2014 better? I have the 2012 Switchblade in the 10m size, but looking to maybe replace an older Crossbow that fits my l...

Re: Hints or help to get knot out of steering line.

Let it soak in a cup or bucket of water for a while. Then with finger nails just work away at it. Soak some more if needed. Helps.

Re: Terrible News from Perth

I'm quite sorry to hear about this tragic accident. If anything going forward, we can learn from this and hopefully avoid a similar situation happening in the future. In one post I saw on another forum, it noted he was riding a 9m with gusts over 30knots. Was it close to 30 knots while he was out ri...

Re: Sudden boost in winds...

I guess it depends on how much you weigh, but at that much wind at the low end I'd be on a 10m or 9m to begin with which would make it easier to handle those gusts. When I'm riding along and the gusts hit, I sheet out as far as I can and dig in my back heel to help slow me down a bit and edge hard. ...

Re: Backroll question

Thanks for all the responses and encouragement. I have understood that it's best to keep hands close to the centre of the bar to avoid unwanted steering, and so I've been practicing riding that way. Good tips!

Backroll question

Before attempting to learn a backroll, is it recommended to master popping? Or just go for it?
