Re: Wave board to foil board

Thanks a lot everyone for advises! Mast box definitely sounds like better option than US fin box. Starsky, is that basic plywood skim? Hard to imagine how it is possible to start ride it with heavy alu foil. With my skills I would just slide off. If that really works great with more skills then it l...

Re: Wave board to foil board

Thanks, Starsky. I think I'll go with 10" or 15" US fin boxes and place it using that boardlady method. My motivation is that those long fin boxes should work as stringers and it will allow to mount other foils if I'll decide to try something new at some point. Anyone has any arguments against US fi...

Re: Wave board to foil board

BTW, I tend to hit ground with wing sometimes :) Do your absolute best to avoid this! I have to believe that every "run aground" is one to many and is simply not good for the health of your KBHF and possibly even worse yours! R H I should definitely avoid this, but water here isn't very transparent...

Re: Wave board to foil board

viewtopic.php?f=196&t=2388827&p=896007&hilit=surfboard#p896007 I mounted the zeeko aluminum set up to my 6' Jimmy Lewis. Made solid wrapped glass inserts as per the photos that went from a deck patch (6x 6 oz glass) to a bottom patch (9x 6 oz glass). Made the inserts in a mould made from 1" pvc pip...

Re: Wave board to foil board

Yea, Zeeko alu foil is brilliant. Looks like these in the picture will help to find right placement. So far I ride foil with front strap, but hopefully with this board it will be possible to ride it strapless. My current foil board is crappy and I can ride it with front strap only, because somehow f...

Wave board to foil board

I have this Wainman Mangum 6'2 2011m beauty that I would like to convert to foil board for Zeeko alu foil with plate mount. This board isn't super strong, but it has inserts, so it should be strong enough. So my questions: 1) Do I need to place extra stringers around foil mount area? 2) Where can I ...

Re: Foil + Wakeskate

Looks nice, except wakeskate is much heavier than his thin board. Also his foil mounted very back on the board, I saw other foils are mounted between feet closer to back foot.

Foil + Wakeskate

Any ideas why heavy wooden strapless high rocker wakeskate 118x40 would not work with freeride alu foil? Looks like it should be nice setup for freeride sessions comparing to those bulky foil boards.

Re: Wainman ManiaC

I have 8m, 9.5m, 11.5 and 14m ManiaCs. My kites are not from the first batch, so maybe negative feedback applies to first batch kites only. These C kites are perfect for my style of riding - pure wakestyle. They are very locked-in, it takes efforts to move kite around, that's good for me, because I ...
