Re: riding goofy side

Get yourself a skateboard and practice riding with either foot forward. It's going to feel weird until it stops feeling weird :-)

Re: Duotone presents: The Sum Of 5

Somehow wherever I go I see absolutely minimal wakestyle. It must have been hot 10 years ago but I don’t think it caught up. Even pretty girls’ cheeks can’t revolve a declining niche discipline. These are just my thoughts, I’d love to see sales numbers for high-rocker boards, boots, C-ish kites and...

Re: Do you know the Kiteboarding Etiquette?

I do when i am doing transitions from port to starboard. I always shout starboard just before i send the kite violently the other way so i know it isnt my fault when i hit them though. I usually lodge a protest shortly afterwards. Always carry your little red flag so people know you mean business. ...

Re: Why isn't sliding rope bar more prevalent?

For me its very easy. While riding toeside - from reach course to upwind you must rotate your hip to upwind direction. Kite pull on hook rotate you on exactly oposite direction - so in order to overcome this rotation you must rotate your hips harder. You are get used to overcome this and just push ...

Re: South Africa first timer

I travel to Cape Town regularly. I've been kiting for about 8 years, so probably rate as a beginner/intermediate kiter. I've not done anything special as far as getting on the water is concerned. Obviously things to do are: * check the weather forecast * go where other kiters go * be respectful and ...

Re: How much tension really is on the lines?

The dynamics of the system can vary a great deal. Worst case scenario is all the load being on one line, when hooked in and constrained. And by constrained I mean the rider is edging hard, or his board is submerged, or for some reason he can't be lifted clear). Under a completely constrained scenari...
