Hit 45knot winds on my 7m Switch Element - was not fun. Between the gusts and the lulls and the kite jellyfishing it was not worth the effort. My buddy on his 8m Switch Nitro3 loved every minute of it though.

Try them both - I highly recommend you do this. I own a 13m Element V1 which was good to learn on in water and also good on the snow. But I kind of outgrew it going into my 2nd season of kiteboarding and upgraded to the V3 Nitro 12m which is a great kite. Not too wild for anyone, even a beginner but...
