Re: New inflatable Kite, 100% hydrofoil dedicated: Notus Air

This is an interesting thread. I have some experience with foil - have had Speed 4 Lotus in all sizes and well as Sonic FR 's. 9 times out of 10 I love my Sonics. The 15 Sonic v S421 is interesting - the 21 is sooo slow to loop that the smaller Sonic is easier to ride with as much power on the hydro...

I also had this exact same problem and made a mess when drilling out the bolt. I wish I knew about Tefgel in advance.

Re: Flysurfer Speed 5

I have the Speed 5 12 and can't say I've had any problems with assisted landings. I ask the assistant to take hold of the lowest wingtip and hold it to the ground. Once grounded, i walk toward them and secure the wingtip with sand. I've used the same technique since the Speed 2 and nothing has chang...

Re: 12 m2 for foil and boosting

I'm riding Flysurfer Speed 5 12 for foiling and boosting on my TT. Absolutely love it - I've had all the Speed's from 2-5 inclusive as well as Sonics. For absolute performance Sonic can't be beat, but the Speed 5 has say 90% of hr power but much easier handling and relaunch. I'm foiling easily in 10...

Re: Flysurfer Speed 5 vs speed 4 and backstall.

We've got club racing on Sunday so with weather permitting, I'll try and ride Sonic 11 back to back with Speed 5 12 on the foil board and let you know.

:)

Re: Flysurfer Speed 5 vs speed 4 and backstall.

I've also got the new Speed 5 12m. I've only had a chance to fly it once but it was 100% in my opinion. I've been on Sonic's for 12 months or so, so perhaps the higher AR from the 4 to 5 is less noticeable for me. From what you describe (trimmer pulled all the way in) it sounds like your rear lines ...

Re: New inflatable Kite, 100% hydrofoil dedicated: Notus Air

Can Zeeko please elaborate on the handling characteristics at the 20-25 knots as suggested ? At this speed , here in Perth we are usually in the domain of racers riding the Sonic / R1/ Diablo. What differences can we expect of the Notus in comparison to the high AR foil kites we currently ride ? I m...

Re: New inflatable Kite, 100% hydrofoil dedicated: Notus Air

Interesting. I'm riding Flysurfer both Speed 4 Lotus and Sonics, plus bought my first Cloud (c2 17). I love the differences between them, and am interested to see what Zeeko have to offer. For me, hydrofoiling has opened up features in my existing quiver previously unexplored and I'm not sure what h...

Re: What makes a good light wind free ride kite

Following from CG's post - the current crop of foil kites are pretty exceptional. If you have some previous experience, Flysurfer Sonics are unreal - heaps of power and performance. If you want something a little easier, the Speed 4 Lotus is a great LW kite. In my opinion the 15m in either Sonic or ...

Re: Can you loop yourself upwind strapped ?

Hi PF. I find that if I sit in the water strapped to the board, and loop the kite it simply wants to pull me directly downwind. Could be technique but my body acts like an anchor and won't allow me to gain much forward momentum (and hence gain ground upwind) without coming out of the water. Which of...
