Re: If you had to re-buy all your kites tomorrow, what would you get?

Well, after 15 years of kiting it is hard to get exciting about one particular model. They all ride the same to me, or, at least, good windy conditions make much more of the difference than a particular kite brand/model. Therefore, I would just go for the lowest fire sale I could see on the web.

Re: The Duotone Wing

Again what "freedom of movement" is he talking about? He has this thingy leashed to an arm. Board permanently corded to a leg too. The proper way to tether yourself to a wing would be through harness and some sort of control device. Enter kitesurfing bar, and lines! Sure lines don't have to be 20 me...

Re: (almost) tool-less foil setups

We've almost got standard board mounting accomplished I have to say that after moving from a plate to a box, mounting the foil with just one Torx screw is a luxury I would hate to give up. The plate is in the opposite direction of tool-less. Unless you use electric screwdriver, one bolt screwed the...

Re: The Duotone Wing

The wing is a nice shape for a kite. I have always wanted a dihedral kite so it would self stabilize on slack lines. Did you miss Naish Helix? Seriously, unlike traditional LEI this wing can be tethered on 3 lines. Center power line attached to the wing some bridle over the central strut, and two s...

Re: Which year is this bar? :)

Naish 2003-2005; I used 3 of these for a while. It is carbon, not alum. The soft rubber bar ends and sleeved steering lines were way ahead of the time. You can drill the center hole little wider to allow thicker rope -- I did it with all 3 bars and none failed. (You will have to smooth the exposed c...

What a race... Andy Laufer outrunning windfoiler @6:19:

What is the avg/max speed? (Sure unlike kitefoil race it is set up across the wind, but still?)

Re: Anyone here windsurf foil?

Tested flat board waterstart and failed. The board on the video is so wide and buoyant that it can support the weight of the rider. 20 liters kiteboard can't.

monofoil big wing vs traditional small wing

Thinking about trying monofoil. My intuition is that big wing around 1300 cm^2 would be the easiest option. But before embarking onto this project, what is your experience, is 1300 cm^2 monofoil easier to ride than classic 600 cm^2 one?
