Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I understand that Aluula fabric is intrinsically far stiffer than Dacron. Therefore for a given diameter a LE made with Aluula is far stiffer than a LE made with Dacron. Thus an Aluula LE diameter can be substantially reduced while maintaining required stiffness. I believe, Aluula kite still can be...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I launched somebody on Aluula Roam 10 m the other day. The leading edge was perhaps 30% smaller diameter than my lowly 10m kite. Which makes the claim of high end believable. This fact also explains the reduced weight, as bladder takes at least half of the weight and you have less of it. Oh, yes, le...

Can you please also report how much pumping strokes did it take to reach each milestone? I highly suspect the dependency is not linear, so it is not 3 times more effort to get it to 3 bars compared to 1. My test on bicycle tire: 2->3 bar 4 strokes 3->4 3 4->5 2 5->6 3 This was road bike, though, whi...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

I don't know what country are you living out there, but here in the US global warming has been put on hold. People chanting "no justice, no peace", encouraging more offenders to resist the police, causing more incidents. Each incidents ignites more young naivettes, whose purpose in life is to "chang...

Re: Cabrinha Drifter vs. Core Section?

The choice is simple. If you drive BMW, then buy Core. Otherwise, Cabrinha is fine choice. Seriously, be skeptical about claims of some brands being superior to the others in terms of quality, when both vendors do have the same or equivalent materials suppliers. Also be suspicious of any claims that...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

...And however well we adapt, we can’t bring back species once extinct. I wouldn't be so sure. There is an effort to bring back some extinct species using genetic engineering. There is a question, of course, who decides what is worth saving. But make no mistake, if you piss off the good money onto ...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

...Any well educated person can recognize that your view in that statement is woefully incomplete. Seasonal peak temps have greater impact on species survival than global average, and they are lurching far beyond the global average. The main stress any particular species must adapt to is not the gl...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

... Ecosystems can adapt to climate change but they need time. Unfortunately, the current rate of warming is almost unprecedented in the paleoclimatic record. Sure 0.01 degree per year might be unprecedented from paleoclimatic perspective. It is still puny compared to seasonable variation. A sugges...

Re: Learning on a small board

The Foil Fish is such an early attempt at a foilboard for the masses ... Its competitors quickly designed more capable offerings for the entry-level market and made it obsolete. LF Fish has been introduced 2015. I don't get why you are still focused on it, as they improved it in the next generation...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

Why does Svante Arrhenius keep on coming up ? All respect to him but he has died a long time ago and suposedly science has evolved. Do you feel that science died with him, there are no real scientists among the "believers", only among the "deniers" ? Because the scientists we admire are individuals...
