Re: Best Wetsuit : O'neill pyrotech ?

I am happy with my Np mission front zip. It does not have the fancy look of the elite or Eclipse but the price is right, neoprene is strong and has a fireline layer on the inside that keeps you really warm. You might be too warm in 20 degree Celsius with a 5/4. I have a 6/5/4 in which I start to swe...

Re: A kitesurfer rescues two persons drowning - watch the vi

I'm wondering what would happen if one of them triggered the quick release by mistake. I guess as long as he would hold the bar he would be ok but it would definitely have been harder to brighten back ashore with quick release triggered.

Re: How to keep water from shooting up wetsuit

i can confirm that the boot trick works (boot over wetsuit). 2 sessions ago i put boots under wetsuit with velco strap. I ended up with bunch of water in my calves. last session i put boots over wetsuit. The boot got wet right away but no water shooting up the wetsuit. For gloves, I am doing the opp...

Re: Does buoyancy affect upwind performance?

I am not an expert but here are my 2 cents. Buoyancy is good to get early planning but you still need to be able to go upwind. Most board use their rail to hold an edge and go upwind as opposed as using keel/fins for windsurfer. If you have huge buoyancy, the amount of rail in the water wouldn't be ...

Re: The Video Topic - post all videos here

Here is my last session on Saturday, trying to learn jump transition with and without downloop.
My newbie series continue ;)

The spot is Breezy Point New York, with WNW 14 knots average (7 low, 22 high), very choppy spot and therefore video ;)

Re: New: KiteLaunchTool

I got a Super Sand Anchor from amazon for $20 The handle is not as good as your KiteLaunchTool but it works fine. I have used it only once (when kiting in the rain so there weren't many people to help launch) in 25 knots wind it did not move at all. I almost forgot it at the beach, when it is buried...

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice

I like the quick release signal, thanks. It does not hurt at all. have seen the kiter walk towards the launcher many many times, and the launcher just moves back, the kiter moves towards the kiter, the launcher moves back and back over and over. I have experienced that as well now that you mention it.

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice

If I did not walk directly to the edge of the window to put tension on line and launch but rather walked first a bit downwind, I would have noticed the lines where crossed. The kite holder would not have mis interpreted my sign. Actually, when I launched the second time i walked at least 30 degree d...

Scary one : https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=715308848564416 Any idea on what happened here ? Why did he got so much power after releasing the safety ? is that because of the center line wrapped around the bar ? how can this happen oO ? Ouch It looks like he put his leash in suicide mode instea...
