Re: Eleveight FS Review

Update. This kite boosts! First time on the FS09 I broke my height record, 37.5 feet in 25g30. Prior record (other than FS12) was 28 ft on Liquid Force NV07 in 30G35. That's basically 35% more air in 20% less wind. Ridiculous. It did stall once, but completely my fault, swung way underneath and lan...

Re: Big Land Gaps

That’s dope! I have had some good times riding with Aaron down here in Hatteras. Here is a big fail I had trying to megaloop one of the gaps and ended up in a bush 😂 I still prefer the pivot for the hang time. What kind of kite do you use, Toby? https://youtu.be/WrJYj54GnNM LOL I love land gap, I h...

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

Wow. This topic - 8 pages on how to turn a Hydrofoil ? TLDR but for me carving the foil (after 3 years of foiling) is no different to carving a skateboard / snowboard. It’s all hips and knees and looking thru the turn to the exit. You can’t stamp down on the tail because that will just breach the f...

Re: Summer Vs Winter Riding - Versus w/Rygo Ep 15

I would add that in early spring don't skip on gloves, even if air is warm and sun keeps your hands warm, if you have to self rescue/or QR is released and loose finger dexterity it could get messy. Imagine QR release and you don't have dexterity to reset QR... You won't even be able to release leash...

Re: Double Line Flagging Kite w/ Single Line Bar?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am 99% sure that any single front line flag out bar will safely eject a kite with a bridle that is designed to roll over when ejected on the front two lines. I think you are right except for some older kite design... I thought on older kite design and bridle y...

Re: Surpassing Plateaus: Your First Lessons and Riding Upwind

Had a first crack at blogging and wrote two long winded posts on learning to kitesurf and going upwind. The posts detail reasons why kitesurfers often plateau and provides insight into what both riders and instructors can do to mitigate this. If you have time to read I would love to get feedback fr...

Re: Downloop after kiteloop

Hooked in, after a massive kiteloop I can't downloop and finish the entire downloop/second kiteloop before the landings every time, while I'm in the air (always start the downloop in the air but I finish the loop with the board already in the water) ...I thought it was only a question of height but ...

Re: What’s the best board you have ever tried?

I haven't tried enough but so far I love the Nobile Fifty/50, great control and pop when powered, it s a lot easier to hold more power with deep edge and pop aggressively than other boards i have tried. big con is that is pretty slow compared to other board, definitly want to try bigger size. Or may...
