Re: Flag out line not long enough

On the first picture it is clearly visible that the flag out line is wrapped around the depower rope and this is the reason why your slack is missing. :)
Be aware that the flag out system may not function properly in such a case.

Re: Explain bar pressure please

Depends if you pull to the same distance or with the same pressure. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Higher bar pressure due to shorter leverage (backline attachment closer to frontlines) should not give slower turns. Same amount of sheeting (or turning input) makes then bigger reaction in kite, so turning ...

Re: Explain bar pressure please

This question comes again and again. :D Bar pressure is: 1 The force needed to keep the kite and certain angle of attack when kiting. 2.The force needed to turn the kite. Light bar pressure means less force needed. Changing the bar pressure with different wingtip attachment points has the following ...

Hard shell of the harness can spread the load from the kite even in the absence of spreder bar.
Completely wrong!
Using sliding rope connected directly to the kite harness without spreader bar is recipe for injury! :nono:https://www.ropebook.com/information/vector-forces/

The rider is Wladimir Rodriguez - definitely local, knowing very well the rules and team rider at Gaastra.

Re: Hardshell harnesses and traveling

I remember - getting a Manera harness just before a kiting trip and the first thing that I discovered - these fancy anti-rotation flaps on the spreader bar - they make it a royal PITA to pack the damn thing... I remove the spreader bar and put the harness in front of the travel bag. Perfect protect...

Re: Is it possible to kite a surf-foil?

The 'Chinese SUP foil' comes with (I think) a 60 cm mast. Also available are 76 and 91 cm masts. I am used to using a 91 cm mast. What are your thoughts about masts longer that the 60 cm mast that comes standard? Shorter mast makes the foil more agile, reactive, easier to turn - this is exactly wha...

@Pikovsg & Bletti
In my statement I was talking generally and not specifically about 13.4 Cloud vs 12m Airush Ultra. :)

Re: Short masts

In deep water and waves, why do you find it more fun with the 70 instead of the 90 ? With the shorter mast I have better control and I can turn easier, faster and tighter because I have less submerged mast in the water. The foil is much more agile, reactive and more fun to ride and now I always pre...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

The Cloud 13.4m is 2.3kg, half a kg less than the ultra 12m and about the same weight as the ultra 9m, which is why I went with the Cloud for surviving lulls. It would be good to get a chance to ride both back to back and also test relaunch. Making assumptions which kite will survive better in lull...
