Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

If you compare the white and green (anhedral wing) and the white and blue (flat wing) we also change the height of the vertical fin (4.0cm for the flat wing of the white and blue wing, and 2.5cm for the white and green one). The target is to have the same yaw effect Hi Nicolas, Is this a typo? Did ...

What got you into Hydrofoiling?

Let’s go existential. What brought you to kiteboarding? For me it was to have a sailboat I could fit in the trunk of my car, and the fun of flying a controllable kite. I was never interested in boosting, “tricks” and the skater culture, but rather a dynamic personal experience of wind-powered movem...

Re: Nigel no mates

Let's have a look in this forum, in styles section. HF has more posts (and subjects) than all other styles together... And what's more? Before Sep 2013 it did not even exist... Since then it's growing 2-3x every year. The number of the companies that offer HF increases at a similar rate. It's safe t...

Re: Nigel no mates

Hmm
Excuse me but I have a hard time to get your point /problem.

Yes, HF is not a discipline, it's a tool.
Same as TT, and within TT there is unhooked, freestyle, free ride, course race etc.
Same with the much younger HF
Greg doing his maneuvers is one thing, racing is another ...

Re: Nigel no mates

OK, whatever
but when a TT is lawn mowning the foil is touring!

The wind angles that you get and the ease to cover long distances transform the lawn mowning to a day trip !

I found it inspiring but mind that he is more talented than most of us. It took me 3 sessions to do what he did in 1

Tarp-cloth as carpet for launching

*** Mocking opportunity for smart asses below: *** The ground around here is not ideal for launching foil kites. (Pebbles are ok - but it's frequent to have some thorny seeds called tribulus or an occasional sharp stick/glass etc) My crazy idea is to lay a surface of tarp cloth (tent material) and l...

Re: Nigel no mates

cwood and Kykeon, is this because you got lots of wind regularly ? 8) PF Partly yes. We do have very regular wind. (And very steady as well - gusts very rare) Especially in the summer, almost every day. Most people just have a 10m and a bigger quiver would not bring much benefit. But there is also ...
