Re: Ram air first session damage

Not that easy repair, unfortunately. I mean if done professionally, not making some hack fixes. If done properly there's no (greater) risk it will damage on that point again. Kite flying properties won't be affected.

Re: Eleveight CS vary 2021 vs 2020

Or it is fixed length for throw+depower: implying that the more bar throw you configure the less depower length you have and vice versa? If you increase bar throw you will lose same amount of depower range in trimmer. Depower line is one line which goes from the clam cleat through the bar down to c...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

For the lower skin I made the following design. 4 rows for the bridles and also various straps on the billowed surface. I used the ideas on the latest commercial models here and there. lowerS.png Also applying H ribs on the center cell and 75% finger ribs on the other cells I have now quite some in...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

Hi guys Quick question, I think some sort of double sided tape is used for panels, or LEI tube. Which kind of it is it? Do I order one from extremetextil And how is it possible that the needle is not "gunked" with a glue? Cheers Yes, double side tape is used and it really makes sewing easier. It is...

Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

Keep in mind different line lengths amd quality when comparing bars. I flew the same kite on 2 different bars and was surprised how slow and sluggish one felt over the other , One had original premium lines and was 21m and the other bar were no name lines and 3m longer. I chalked up the noticeable ...

Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

About the bar "only": The low " bar-end height " is said to give the rider a great direct feel Also said is that the leverage is optimized and inertia reduced That could sure have something to do with it Now lines : Add the tectanium lines/short front lines barely stretch so that when bar is pushed...

Re: just arrived a new 9mtr soul joins my family of foil kites, need advice!

Psycho2 was a tamed kite compared to P1 but for example in 10m size I don't have at all bad memories of it. It was the best foil kite of its time for sure. But when Psycho3 came it was a clear step forward because it was so much faster. P3 was (AFAIK) the first foil kite with a modern two pulley spe...

Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

You always have to think both ways; what impulse comes from the bar and what impulse comes from the kite. Bar development is rocket science, trust me, working 15 years + in the game....it is! Good bar feeling over a big wind range / kite range is rocket science, 100% !!! Endcap/ winder geometry is ...

Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

It is a bit comical to follow for years discussions where essentially point is when line has a bend it gets shorter. But thanks to deniska for showing that intriguing geometry with a clear drawing. In the end kite doesn't know what brand bar and lines are attached to it. Bar is essentially a stick a...
