Re: Groove Skate vs Groove Wave

Compared to these kind of boards is there any downside about pocket pointed boards like onofoil and others low volume dedicated to foil surfing?

I guess the scoop may help on touch downs but is there any other difference compared to dedicated kitefoil boards?

Re: what are you workin on? kitefoil strapless freestyle progression

Going strapless made me relearn all the moves I was used when riding with straps. They all came together easily, 360s, flying foot switches and gybes, except the roll tacks. Not even close. That made me realize I was still in the cheating stage when I had to pull the board by the the front strap in ...

Pocket strapless foil in Cumbuco

Felt pretty confortable to go strapless on a pocket board.
Easy to turn around and very playful on waves but my learning tacks got far behind compares to the strapped 4’6 dc. Worth it though.

No one noticed a new bar?
Also interested.
Or is it a modified regular bar?
Speaking of it, is there a thread about how to remove weight like depower rope and side flotation stuff? I have a few unused bars that I could work with for dedicated lightweigh foiling.

Re: Spaceskate - it's limits?

Also wondering if the Apollo 60 would be a good and cheap upgrade from the spaceskate, or if I should cash out for the Moses 633. The Apollo is not a cheap option comparing to the older wings mentioned. Still less expensive than switching all to moses. There is also an option to get the moses wings...

Re: Unhooked foiling

What about setting the leash on “suicide mode” to make it easy to recover? Does it make sense if riding in usual foil conditions? Never thought about it but sounds interesting.

Re: kites for foiling

Got myself a single strut Takoon One Light in 12m for lightwind foiling. Above 10knots I use a 9m wave kite. I havent tried it yet but since I ride a small wing I hope I get more wind range and dont get over powered easily. Does it make sense or should I also go for a bigger wing even being lightwei...

Huge drag at low speed

I am using a Lift 100 osprey wing with a long mast and I feel super draggy after take off and riding at low speeds. It is like there is some air flowing underneath that feels kinda wobbly until I pump a bit of ride faster and it gets smooth. I hate it because It holds me down during slow transitions...

Re: First to ever foil in this lagoon

Yesterday I went for foil session at a secret spot in Brazil mid area and a local told me I was the first to ever hydrofoil there. Solid off shore 9-13knots at the take off area what made a huge flat to play around. Also spent the rest of the sunday editing. Today’s ses...
