First to ever foil in this lagoon

Yesterday I went for foil session at a secret spot in Brazil mid area and a local told me I was the first to ever hydrofoil there. Solid off shore 9-13knots at the take off area what made a huge flat to play around. Also spent the rest of the sunday editing.

Re: beginner slingshot foil stuff

I'm a big fan of the SS hoverglide system. I learnt on it, progressed with it and still love it. Lots of wing and mast options and bulletproof. Current set up is 90cm mast, apollo 60 wing and custom chopped 14" flat stab. Perfect combo for pocket board and BRM clouds. Highly recommended. Can you gi...

Re: How many kites...

I ride a slingshot hoverglide with standard h5 wing. I live at capital of Brazil not at all like the windy coast. The lake here is 1km of altitude and the lightish ocasional wind blows from 8-9knots up to maybe around 12 gusts. On better days the gusts go a little higher. I am now leaning towards si...

Re: How much more relaxed can it get with a modern foil?

I learned on and still ride a h5 wing and full mast. I am only 63kg so I can ride it from really slow until 43kph tops on a lake. So it may take a while for you to outgrow from it. Also have a MHL Lift with classic osprey wing which I find it pretty similar to the H5 in terms of lift and speed. Ridi...

The better I get the less patient I am with being on the wrong kite, especially being 140 lbs and foiling
I weight the same and have 8 kites but been using a 9m wave kite for foiling 99% of the time.

I think I need a bigger single strut though.

Re: 33% or 50% size gap for foiling quiver

I know that most foilers dont like big foilkites for their downsides. I agree that its not a good advice to get that kind of gear for most kiters. But my preferences are that I like to ride powered and I like large foilkites in general. If I would skip one kite from the list it would probably be th...

Re: Recife to Fortaleza info please!

Full of tiger sharks and forbidden to swim at Recife - boa viagem beach and surroundings.
An hour drive and you arrive at Porto de Galinhas and Maracaipe beach. Nice touristic place full of restaurants and night life.
Wind not as strong as Ceara but you can still kite. Good for foiling and waves.

Re: slingshot compstick sentinel vs guardian control bars

I had the gaurdian system for a couple years, it’s pretty bomb proof and simple with nice stopper. I did not like how hard it was to depower from full out position when overpowered it puts a weird angle on you elbow and stresses it Converted the bars to sentinel system and much Prefer the pull to d...

Re: Ride Engine/Slingshot Bat Wing/H4 vs. NF2/H5

I love my H4 but would lay down some extra bucks for the new apollo If was in your shoes right now.. Since launching date haven’t heard of any experience or reviews on this Apollo wing. Considering the similarity with the popular 633 it must be a nice and forgiving wing for wave freeride kite ridin...
