Re: Mast length pros vs cons

A longer mast will make your session less stressful IMO , so apparently very different approaches to this as mentioned, or it could simply be low water you have major trouble with? 8) PF Where I foil the mean depth is about 0.6 to 1.2m (normal low to normal high tide). There are obviously deeper ar...

Re: Mast length pros vs cons

I have a 70cm mast and do mostly long distance freeriding. I am confident on the board but very much a beginner. What I find is: When you go over a shallow part (<1m) foiling, short/long does not really matter until you have to stop or touchdown to change directions. Very often I would have found my...

Re: Life guard saves kiteboarder

When a freak gust turns a hydrofoil board into a twin tip and throws a kiteboarder on the rocks, an observant life guard dives to the rescue. http://youtu.be/5KrTZxfIAas?t=65 Don't you hate it when the freak gust just happens as you jump, rips the foil off your board, then throws you onto the rocks?

Interesting design.
It was actually a triplane! And the big vertical stabiliser below the foil must have been something you buy by the dozen

I wonder if anyone still has one lying around.

Re: Most Dangerous and aggresive locations in the SE UK

Do not engage with this person. He is a serial litigant and the BKSA stepped in to defend various people he vexatiously tried to sue. It wen't nowhere (because it was vexatious) but was stressful to the people involved. There was no "costs order". Toby - I don't know what your policy is on banning ...

Re: Sending & lift

Sure, but when sending, the kite moves against apparent wind, so even if moving up fast, does kite air speed change really have big effect to the upwards lift. I might as well think that kite air speed could even decrease during sending..? How fast does the kite backwards relative to you when you'r...

So are you saying Airush designed better kites than Duotone? And Duotone is less innovative than Airush? And the brands that sell more of the worse kites also spend more on marketing?
You're bored, aren't you?

Re: Mod a pump with a high pressure setting?

Aren't those just the older versions of pump, before they became more efficient by pumping on the up-stroke too? I think the same. You probably find that a 12+ year old pump will be a single action pump. The double action pump in more interesting. The best is still the newer pumps with the valve to...

Re: BRM Clouds arbitrage opportunity

Because as far as I am aware BRM (Greg) will only sell to people after chatting to them. If he now has resellers he loses control over who gets his limited number of kites, which probably goes against what he wants from BRM. I am sure that if it was only for the money BRM would ship out of the US, s...

Re: Blaster kitefoil by Zeeko (AVS)

Just wondering why no one has come out with a G10 curved wing. ... But could you/would you afford to pay for them? The machining time would be huge, 50-60mm thick g10 would cost a lot more than 20mm, etc. Curved g10 is possible but would be a custom product with its own large tooling costs. ...
