If you want to make the repair lighter and easier to finish mix the epoxy with micro balloons - as long as the epoxy mix is at least as strong as the weakest material you are bonding then it will be strong enough.

Thanks. Good idea to measure from connection point, rope in this case - about 5", rather than from the spreader bar.

You've got the answer to your question... But, why not go a step further? If you are prepared to do a little customisation yourself, you can get an extra inch or two of throw on what the Slingshot micro chicken loop will give you. You can also get a much lower friction connection to the slider rope...

FWIW sand on the Antal ring is a total non-issue. I have somewhere between 500 and 1000 hours on mine all launching at sandy beaches and throwing it in the sand to lay out and there's zero appreciable wear on either the ring or the slider rope. I've actually heard about more issues with the pulleys...

But not after it's spent hundreds of hours being rubbed against another stainless ring, with sand between the two. My front lines in my old bar were 500kg apiece with 300kg rears and they all snapped at once, so ultimate new breaking strength is obviously not the only concern here. I don't think it...

Look at my setup on the other thread, maybe page 40 or so? It's actually almost too close. I lose leverage to pull the bar in with about 3" of throw left. I see your post "Tue Jun 28, 2016 2:30 am", thanks. I don't want to use an Antal ring (or similar) because of sand on the beach and in the water...
