Re: Light wind kite

TL;DR When I was a CEO my rule for presentations was that anything over one page double spaced was not acceptable. 'Nuff said. Forget pump kites under 14kn. They are too inefficient and won't relaunch etc. 8-10kn is a foil kite kingdom. Please ignore the lies of ram lovers. Ram air ("foil") kites ar...

Re: Impact Vests in 2020/21 - A focus on rib protection

Do impact vests in general provide any useful protection against water impacts? From what I gather most rib injuries are caused by the harness which the vest can not help with. Most vests then just have a padded section on the chest and upper back - perhaps useful in an impact against a hard object...

Re: Lieuwe boards

I am 80kg. My all round board is the Shotgun 136x40.5 with Ozone Enduro V2 7m, 9m, 12m in 16-30+ knots. I use the Shotgun 138x42 with 12m in 14-16 knots, and with an Ocean Rodeo Flite Aluula 14.5m in 14 knots or less, especially in summer. Just starting to learn strapless. You and I are more or les...

Re: Lieuwe boards

Why did len10 leave after having a pro board made for him? I take you have two boards of different size. Which is better all round size? I am 80kg. Re: Carbon vs Wood made boards

The most embarrasing thing is the windsurf boards out there with sandwiched kevlar deck patches. When I finally did the math , my patch schedule was not appreciably stronger than if I had taken out the Kevlar. Honestly, carbon would have even been better there. I would be very interested to see "th...

Re: Light wind kite

A 17m with a big twintip will work, such as Ozone Zephyr with Shinn Superking.

Re: Wave Kiting Right of Ways - still confused

The wave belongs to whoever is on it first, subject to the overriding rule that collisions are to be avoided at all costs. The problem sometimes arises that some dick decides to turn onto your wave upwind of you forcing you to take evasive action. A quiet word on the beach usually stops it happening...
