I had no idea there were different KF boxes. Thanks.

Also, its nice to have another reason not to buy the $1200 alpine board, which looks ideal performance wise but comes with a hideous paint job.

I've been kiting for a few months, I'm 84 kg and ride a foil fish. For me I ride my 17 c2 from 10 mph to 12 mph. Board options for Ketos in California

Ketos doesn't ship boards here, apparently. I demoed the F-one 49, and loved it except for the bump the KF box makes in the deck. I like to keep my foot there. Alpine has a cool looking new freeride board, small with volume, but the color scheme is not acceptable especially when combined with a 1200...

I switched to the dakine nitrous shorts. The lower pull point is better for me but it still hurts my back eventually, just in a different area.
