Re: Wingfoiling Harness

Try a belt/waist coil leash, IMO the best solution. Let's hear how you get on with the straight leash first though. I don't like them, they get stuck around everything, and also dangle and are noisy when just riding, slapping against the board. Agree with you, coil leash around the ankle is a PITA. ...

Re: Wingfoiling Harness

Leashes are a pain in the ass, no getting around that. I may be ditching the board leash soon. Wave action on the boards foil will drive it downwind at quite a clip, you better be a fast swimmer. Ha haa, indeed, you can not ride without board leash IMO  Even when no waves, the board drive...

Re: high aspect foils

Probably not that useful to compare specs between manufacturers unless they all standardize their methodology. For example, in calculating AR, some use actual SA, others use projected. True, but difference is pretty small so okay. The major problem is you would need a CL max and a Cl/Cd max, and a ...

Re: Low tech freeride foils

I think there are and have been many low tech low cost foils. Liquid Force Cabrinha First Naish And many others... But if coarse, as many are willing to pay for high tech, low tech will not dominate. And beginners re-sell their used low tech often, so the same amount is not needed is my guess. 8) Pe...

Re: Wingsurfing vs Windsurfing

Well, to me it sounds like arguing for the sake of the argue. One can always defend strict semantics yes. But in reality it is all about us understanding each other. Just like one could argue it is called a "strut" and not a mast. But everyone knows what a mast is, on a hydrofoil, so makes sense to ...

Re: Belt/Waist leash highly recommended!

This might be a stupid question.... And it's definitely in the wrong forum but could someone like this be used for a surfboard leash? And hook it into the back of a harness instead of a strap around the waist. As I see it, could easily use a leash hooked into the back of a harness for a surfboard l...

Re: Using A Bicycle To Go To Beach With Hydrofoil

You could also jump in your wetsuit, put your harness on, kites on the back, and have the complete foil under your arm when riding to the water.
I often do this :thumb:

Re: 2016 North Evo backstalling

Hi Have you really measured all your bridle lines, and flying lines, 4 years ago when you bought it, since you can compare? Or have you got the original measurements on the bridles from North? I would not put anything into this though... How many other kites do you have - are they flying with the sa...

Re: Belt/Waist leash highly recommended!

I have to try this.

Are you using a coil leash, or a line?

Oh, sorry, I saw in your video you are using a line/bungee leash :thumb:

Re: straps for foil if not getting air

With straps you can ride more powered and faster still in control.

You can also make 360s a lot easier, somewhat cheating when straps.

Otherwise no advantages IMO, or should we call it differences regarding the last one, as not only an advantage as it feels odd.
