Re: Lift 200 for kiting

For my weight of 87kgs and preferred style (waves with kite) I think the 170 classic would be a good choice. Does any Lift riders know where I can get my hands on the product in Australia?

Naish Boxer 10m 19/20

I couldn’t find any reviews on the new Boxer in a wave riding scenario so thought I’d post my own. I’m 88kgs. Been kiting since 2004 and have been on Naish for 10 years now. I love riding waves on a directional but find myself on a foil more and more due to a lack of decent waves :x I purchased a 19...

Re: Different kites in different sizes quiver

I like to keep it simple as I hate looking at kites that never get used. I have two kites only, a 7m Slash and 10m Boxer. Use the Slash for wave riding with SB @ 16-30 knots. Also use the Slash for Foiling from 14-20 knots. Use the Boxer for Foiling from 10-15 knots. Use the standard 24m line length...

Re: Pivot Unbaised Review. Good Kite For Surf?

My first pivots were 2016 models (7/9 combo) followed by the 2018 (7/9 combo). I purchased them at the time as they were Naish’s wave oriented kite. The ‘Progression’ learning clips had many of wave riding sequences of a rider with a Pivot (teaching drifting etc). In response to the OP’s question, t...

Re: I Think We Have More Drift !

Nice wave spot LWC. Is that your local? I have to add that my 2018 7m Pivot was my favourite kite for pure fun.... Waves and boosting. Some regrets about selling it. Switched to the Slash as it’s marginally better in the waves and considerably better over a foil.....the two disciplines I subscribe t...

Re: Quick Flight

Yup. I also run the JShapes gear. 70/95 mast, Cruzer Foil and Pocket 100 Board. Loving the simplicity of it all with the 4 bolts as Ozbungy has explained. I have scaled back to just the one kite now (7m Slash) as it does me from 12-22 knots with the foil and up to 30 knots on the surfboard (I’m 85 p...

Re: Quick Flight

My understanding is the first generation of Naish Abracadabra worked ok but developed slop over time. They say the new one is better. Quick Flight looks like a variation on the same theme. Hopefully it will be better than the first Naish and at least as good as the new one. Honestly the market goin...

Re: Naish Slash 2018 vs Naish Slash 2019

I finally had my 7m Slash out in some acceptional wind today 23-29 knots on my 5.1 FW Vader. I felt like this was the sweet spot with the kite at my weight (80kgs). I like to be powered when riding bay wind swell. I have to say that this kite ate up the gusts. Never pulled me off my edge and very co...

Re: Naish Slash 2018 vr Naish Slash 2019

I have had my new 2019 Naish Slash 7m out in some ok wind now and as promised, thought I’d post a review. Have only flown the 2018 Slash once in the 8m so have a better comparison to the 2018 Pivot 7m. Rider: Intermediate/advanced, 85kgs, natural. Board: FireWire Vader 5.1 Bar/lines: BTB 55 on rope ...

Re: Naish Torque Control Bar issue

Well done Jonysan! Definitely pays to get familiar with your QR on dry land. I haven’t had to reset my chicken loop in the surf since my experience I wrote about last year..... thank goodness! But I think I would still have problems if my kite was under load. Testing on dry land is so different comp...
