Re: Don't buy a Core kite before you read this!

I would expect a distributor to
A) have them in Stock
B) not do more harm than good to the brand with his online presence(es) ...

It seems not so easy to find a good one!

Re: Foil tangled in lines

If you release, it will probably still be tangled in the foil and keep on deathlooping.

Once I had that problem, I just found a line that was looking clean and pulled it until the kite was flagged.

Then untangled everything and relaunced

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

It’s so much more convenient do simply dismiss someone as racist, misogynist, ageist, gendrist or (fill in prefix of choice)-ist than to go through that pesky process of actually engaging in conversation. :thumb: or ecologist, feminist, dogooder, green fool, moral high ground etc... Since we were n...

Re: Is anyone else buying carbon credits to offset CO2 from travel?

Please let me know if, from the view of a scientist (you), my below response to Greenturtle is in error, or if you agree with my statement. The nitty gritty details can be debated till the end of time. The big picture is plain to see. .....No way would a honest and conscientious scientist ever agre...

Re: Any tips on building a foilboard...

I got my hands on a decent foil but do not want to shell out $1000 for a board. Has anyone built their own board and if so can you give me some tips. Thanks That's a very interesting topic. I wish there was a wiki or a sticky to summarize all the knowledge that is spread in here... Any volunteers? ...

Re: Are Pulley bridles more tolerant to stretch/shrink?

My wrong, instead of “center of moments” I should have called it the aerodynamic center (wider used term). The point at 1/4 of the chord for our applications. https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/airplane/ac.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerodynamic_center (AoA increases, chord gets shorter, AC co...

Re: Are Pulley bridles more tolerant to stretch/shrink?

Again, my understanding is: (and you are welcome to challenge it as this helps me understand better) As you sheet in, the wing tips come forward and the CoM (center of moment) comes forward relative to the LE (while the kite sits deeper), that loads more the front lines and changes the whole geometr...

Vector analysis on real picture /experiment show that a2 does not carry load, because if it would a1 and al1 would not be parallel!

And off course if "equally loaded" a1 would have the same angle as a2 compared to AL1.
Now one is parallel and the other at right angle!
