Re: Losing stoke

Instead of the Hot Crazy matrix (interesting), I offer my advice: "If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. If you want my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you. " (preferably rich and can cook). :D

Re: Best Smart Watch

Have the Garmin Fenix 3 for about 3 years. I love it except that now the start/stop button is sticking somewhat, probably due to salt water, sweat or pool chlorine. I do rinse it out after every session. Been thinking of upgrading but not so sure if I will stay with Garmin.

Re: climate change /unpredictable weather/wind

The weather has definitely gotten more unpredictible here on the west coast of Florida. 1993 was a pivotal year when we had the no name, storm of the century. Caught everyone by surprise. When I was a young boy 50-60 years ago during the summer you could set your watches by the time that the afterno...

Re: Rash guards and harnesses

I've always worn a rash guard with my waist harness. As far as riding up is concerned, it may depend on your physique, small waist with large chest is optimal. I don't think I am of that physique, so I cinch up my harness extra tight so the harness stays put. I don't think wearing a rash guard would...

Re: The Future of the Sport?

At one of my local spots, during the mid 90s windsurfing heyday, on one windy weekend I counted more than 40 windsurfers. Now there are less than 10, mostly older, 50-80 years old. I see the same trend with kitesurfing, mostly 40-80 years old with a few 20-30 year olds. I think that the new equipmen...

Re: Lip sun protection?

Tried using a sun scarf but when it got wet I could hardly breathe thru it. So I went back to cheap No Ad 50 spf sunscreen. I put it on my face, neck, ears, nose, and lips 30 min. before I hit the water. I don't put it on my forehead so it doesn't run into my eyes from the spray and I wear a hat. Ha...

Re: flysurfer soul: I need to know 3 things.

IMHO the FS Speed 5 21m is not that slow turning of a kite in light to moderate winds (11-15knots). I find it just as fast as my Xbow 16m kite. My 12m Soul is way, way faster turning than the 21m Speed 5 in similar speed winds (11 - 15 knots). The trim is the key. It takes me a few jumps to get the ...

Re: Depower Line Wear

How does candle wax or bow string wax hold up in the hot Florida sun? I would think that it would get sticky an pick up sand while setting up causing more wear.
