Re: Bridle Line Replacement Material

I am not sure about the Robline 2mm line as the specs (working load/breaking strength) I could not find on that webpage. You need to make sure that you have the appropriate size line for the loads on your bridle. Blade kites may be able to provide you with the correct line size/strength needed. I wo...

Re: Beware Real Watersports

I just checked my Nitrous shorts leg straps and they look good (like new) after about a year of use. The stitching looks pretty solid. Just curious as to where the leg straps came un-stitched? Top/bottom? Both legs? IMO Dakine AU should make it right since Real is not doing anything except a discoun...

Re: Foot Hook advise

Try with the hooks first and if they get in the way, take them off and try strapless. For me the straps kept tripping me up and made me crash. Once I went strapless my transitions improved dramatically as I could get my feet in the right position easily.

Re: Favourite Kiteboarding Recipes

Three cheese pizza!! The breakfast of champions... :D Seriously, for me I bulk up on pasta, except for breakfast which is 3-4 eggs, oatmeal, whole grain cereal, OJ and a banana. If I don't bulk up, my blood sugar will drop after about 5-6 hours. I usually carry a protein/carb bar like Cliff with me ...

Re: Sun protection for face

I've found that the face coverings (facekini, balaclava or whatever you want to call them) are hard to breath through once they get wet. I use No-Ad SPF 50 Sport sunscreen that lasts all day. Probably any 50 SPF waterproof sunscreen will do the trick. I wear a hat and sunglasses so I don't have to p...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

I find this topic fascinating and want to build my own low-tech hydrofoils for wing foiling. Would think they don't have the same stresses as kite foiling and I could get away without using carbon fiber. Any advice on what design software programs to use would be appreciated.

Re: How do you seasoned riders think about when to refresh kites?

Most of my kites (tube kites) are 2010 or older. My oldest kite is my 2007 9m Yarga Hybrid as I don't get the winds to use it much (only used it once this year). My foil kites are 2017 (Speed5) and 2019 (Soul). Prior to retiring I only got to ride on weekends or during the week (daylight savings tim...

Re: Does kiteboarding affect your sleep?

I sleep like a baby after a good session. I've had some pretty good dreams about kiteboarding too!

Re: Ram air first session damage

Put my 12m Soul in a tree and ripped a seam along an intake along with some other internals getting it out. After the repairs were done I checked the bridles and did a long mixer test prior to flying it again. Absolutely no problems, just normal minor shrinkage and did not have to adjust anything. F...
